October Curse Meets CPI Black Swan: Options Strategies to Hedge U.S. Equity Risk

Most of us assumed that CPI and the other data releases would stay relatively tame heading into the US midterms. Instead, the numbers came in hot. September CPI rose 3.7% year over year, a five-month high and above the 3.6% the market was looking for. The bigger surprise was core CPI, which strips out food and energy: it climbed to 2.6% year over year, also ahead of expectations and up from 2.4% the month before. As things stand, the market is already pricing in another Fed hike before year-end — CME's FedWatch Tool puts the odds at close to 90%. The most direct casualty of a higher-for-longer rate environment driven by sticky inflation is the cohort of tech companies that fund their capital spending with debt. To lock in the computing capacity that the next phase of AI development demands
October Curse Meets CPI Black Swan: Options Strategies to Hedge U.S. Equity Risk
TOPcheerzy: Front-end vol is probably doing the work here. With CPI at 3.7% and hike odds near 90%, short-dated put premium looks richer than usual without going too far out.

Deluge’s 3.86x IPO Demand Puts S$0.60 in Focus: Can Earnings Support a Rerating?

🔥 $Deluge Corporation Limited(9DC.SI)$ brings a new fire-protection name to the SGX mainboard. Its IPO attracted 3.86 times subscription, while the public tranche drew 11.97 times demand. For investors, the next question is how much of that enthusiasm can translate into sustained buying after listing. [1] Lianhe Zaobao reported an opening price of S$0.64 on 16 October, 6.67% above the S$0.60 offer price. This article uses that reported opening observation; it does not present a live quote or a closing return. [2] IPO demand and valuation sensitivity. Deluge’s 3.86x IPO Demand Puts S$0.60 in Focus: Can Earnings Support a Rerating?
TOP苏36: 🔥Deluge IPO: Strong Demand, but Can Profits Recover? $Deluge Corporation Limited(9DC.SI)$ attracted strong IPO demand, with its public tranche oversubscribed 11.97 times. However, the real question is whether it can turn orders into sustainable profits. Deluge reported approximately S$433 million in outstanding orders, around 3.7 times FY2026 revenue. This provides visibility, but project costs and delayed payments could pressure cash flow. FY2026 revenue declined 16.5% to S$116.66 million, while attributable profit fell 42.4% to S$8.68 million. Encouragingly, gross margin improved from 30.4% to 33.2%. At S$0.60, the IPO price implies roughly 10 times historical earnings. I remain cautiously optimistic, but would prioritize earnings recovery and cash flow over IPO hype. Strong orders attract attention; consistent profits create lasting shareholder value. @SGX_Stars [龇牙]

🚨 SpaceX, Meta & Tesla: Three Earnings Reports That Could Change the AI Story

AI spending is booming. But where are the returns? After a difficult week for technology stocks, Wall Street faces an important test. Investors are no longer satisfied with ambitious AI plans and rising infrastructure spending. They want evidence that those investments can generate sustainable revenue, profits and cash flow. This week, three major companies will offer different perspectives on that challenge: SpaceX, Meta and Tesla. According to the earnings previews, SpaceX reports on Tuesday, followed by Meta and Tesla on Wednesday. Their results could help shape market sentiment after the recent AI-related sell-off. 🚀 1. SpaceX (SPCX): Can Starlink Fund the AI Ambition? SpaceX is building more than a rocket business. Starlink’s satellite internet operations provide a growing source of

🚨 Fed Uncertainty Returns: Is It Time to Rethink the Tech Trade?

Hotter inflation, falling tech stocks and a Fed that refuses to show its hand. Is Wall Street facing another reality check? The Nasdaq 100 ETF $Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ)$ fell 2.50% on Friday, while the $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY)$ dropped 1.11%. With inflation data coming in hotter than expected, investors are reconsidering whether interest rates could stay higher for longer. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh has declined to signal whether the Federal Reserve will raise rates at its October 27–28 meeting. His message is clear: investors should not assume the next move until policymakers make their decision. For the stock market, uncertainty over interest rates creates a difficult balancing act. 📉 Why Tech Stocks Could Face More Pressure Growth stocks are particularly sensitive to interest rates
🚨 Fed Uncertainty Returns: Is It Time to Rethink the Tech Trade?
TOPDaveLewis: Diversification still matters, but in a higher for longer setup long duration Treasuries have not been the clean hedge people want. I care more about balanced SPY plus duration than timing one Fed line

📉 CoreWeave Drops 12%: When AI Spending Becomes a Market Risk

What if the biggest risk to the AI boom isn’t a lack of demand, but how much money companies are spending to meet it? $CoreWeave (CRWV)$ plunged 11.91% on Friday, putting the spotlight on a question that extends far beyond one stock: Can the massive investment flowing into AI infrastructure deliver the returns the market expects? For months, AI has been one of the strongest investment themes in the market. Technology companies are racing to secure computing capacity, data centres are expanding and demand for advanced GPUs remains a major focus. But CoreWeave highlights a less discussed side of this opportunity: the financial risks that emerge when companies build capacity at extraordinary speed. 🔍 1. The AI Supply Chain Has Different Winners and Losers It is tempting to treat AI as one inv

🚀 Three Giants, One Big Question: Who Can Turn AI Spending Into Real Value?

Revenue growth is impressive. But can it justify the billions being invested in the future? This week’s earnings reports from SpaceX, Meta and Tesla could reveal three very different ways that ambitious technology companies are trying to turn innovation into financial returns. The market isn’t short of big promises. The harder part is determining which investments can build durable businesses, strengthen profits and ultimately reward shareholders. Here’s what makes each company worth watching. 🛰️ 1. SpaceX: Can Starlink Become the Financial Engine? SpaceX’s story goes beyond rocket launches. Starlink’s satellite internet business offers the potential for recurring revenue, while launch operations support the wider space ecosystem. The key question is how efficiently the company can expand.

TOPpuffyxx: Free cash flow for me. In the burn phase, cash generation is harder to fake than revenue, especially for a capital-heavy story like SpaceX.

📉 QQQ Falls 2.5%: Is the Bigger Risk Inflation or Investor Expectations?

The market doesn’t need an interest-rate hike to fall. Sometimes, the fear of what comes next is enough. Friday’s decline in the Nasdaq-100 ETF (QQQ) and S&P 500 ETF (SPY) highlights a difficult situation for investors. Hotter-than-expected inflation data has renewed concerns about interest rates, while Kevin Warsh’s refusal to offer forward guidance has left the market without a clear signal ahead of the October 27–28 Fed meeting. But there is another question worth considering: What if the biggest risk isn’t the Fed’s next move, but how much investors have already assumed about it? 📊 1. Markets React to Expectations, Not Just Decisions Share prices reflect expectations about future earnings, interest rates and economic growth. When inflation comes in hotter than expected, investors m

Musk's $158B Pay Package: A $1 Trillion Bet on Tesla's Future

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ announcement: Elon Musk’s 2025 compensation includes $158.36 billion in stock awards. Tesla (TSLA.US) will hold its annual shareholder meeting on December 3. Musk's $158B Pay Package: A $1 Trillion Bet on Tesla's Future What the $158.36 billion represents This is the total compensation Tesla booked for Musk in 2025 following shareholder approval of his new 10-year pay plan in November 2025, precisely $158,359,009,867: ~$132 billion: the grant-date fair value of the new 10-year CEO Performance Award, assuming all performance conditions are met; ~$26 billion: an interim supplemental award approved in August 2025 — but Musk forfeited this in April 2026 after his 2018 pay package was reinstated by the courts. Tesla
Musk's $158B Pay Package: A $1 Trillion Bet on Tesla's Future
TOP苏36: Tesla’s $158 billion compensation headline is less about money earned today and more about the future investors are being asked to believe in. Musk’s performance-based package is essentially a decade-long bet on Tesla transforming from an EV manufacturer into an AI, robotics, and autonomous mobility powerhouse. The potential rewards are enormous, but so are the execution risks. Reaching an $8.5 trillion valuation requires much more than ambitious presentations: Robotaxis must scale commercially, Optimus must become a viable business, and massive investments must translate into sustainable profits. Here’s the real investor dilemma: Tesla shareholders are not just betting on a company; they are betting on Musk’s ability to turn technological promises into measurable cash flows. The $158 billion accounting figure is not cash already received, and the full award depends on extraordinary milestones. Yet dilution, governance, and capital allocation still deserve scrutiny.

🐯 Q3 Earnings Season: Wall Street Expects Strong Growth, but Where Is the Money Going?

U.S. equities are attracting fresh capital, even as technology funds face billions in outflows. Is Wall Street positioning for another rally — or becoming more selective? Hey Tigers! 🐯 The Q3 2026 earnings season is officially underway, and Wall Street is entering one of the most important reporting periods of the year with high expectations. Corporate earnings are projected to grow nearly 30%, major banks have begun releasing their results, and investors are closely watching whether the AI boom can continue supporting profitability. But the latest market fund-flow data reveals an interesting contradiction. U.S. equity funds attracted $13 billion in fresh capital last week, while technology-sector funds recorded more than $5 billion in outflows. So, what are major financial institutions ex
🐯 Q3 Earnings Season: Wall Street Expects Strong Growth, but Where Is the Money Going?
TOP苏36: C: AI profitability. The market doesn't need more AI promises; it needs proof that massive investments can generate sustainable returns. US equity funds attracted $13.01 billion in the week ended October 14, while technology funds lost $5.21 billion. This divergence suggests that investors are not abandoning equities, but becoming more selective about where they take risks. FactSet projects 29% S&P 500 earnings growth for Q3, yet early earnings surprises are smaller than historical averages. Strong headline growth alone may not be enough to justify premium valuations. The real test is whether AI revenue can outpace rising capital expenditure, depreciation and financing costs. Companies that convert AI spending into stronger margins and free cash flow deserve a premium; those relying on future promises face greater downside. My view: The next rally will reward AI monetization, not AI excitement. Follow the cash flow, not just the hype. @Capital_Insights [贱笑]

🚨 CoreWeave Drops Nearly 12%: Is AI Growth Becoming Too Expensive?

AI demand is booming, but not every company benefiting from the boom will necessarily become a profitable business. $CoreWeave (CRWV)$ fell 11.91% on Friday as concerns over debt and financing risks put pressure on its shares. The sell-off raises a bigger question for the AI sector: What happens when the cost of building AI infrastructure starts to matter as much as demand itself? CoreWeave is an important player in the AI infrastructure market, providing cloud computing capacity powered by GPUs. As AI companies race to train models and deploy new applications, the need for computing power creates a significant growth opportunity. However, building the infrastructure to meet that demand requires substantial capital. 🚀 The Opportunity: AI Computing Demand AI workloads require powerful chips

Still keeping some cash in case theres further opportunity to scoop more stocks. Anyway, the market still shaky, hence do not go all in at once, separate the bullet in a few tranches to spread the risk and also diversification.

🐯 Wall Street’s Upgrade & Downgrade Radar: The Biggest Analyst Calls of the Week

Hey Tigers! 🐯 Another week, another round of Wall Street analysts reassessing their favorite stocks. From AI software and semiconductor infrastructure to consumer brands and media companies, analysts sent mixed signals about where they see the biggest opportunities — and risks. Some companies received significant upgrades and higher price targets, while others faced growing concerns about valuations and future growth. Let's break down some of the week's most notable analyst calls from October 12–16, 2026! 👇 📅 Monday, Oct. 12: Salesforce Gets a Major AI-Era Upgrade 🤖 Stock Firm Rating Change Price Target 🟢 $Salesforce.com(CRM)$ $Bank of America(BAC)$ Underperform → Buy $285 🔴
🐯 Wall Street’s Upgrade & Downgrade Radar: The Biggest Analyst Calls of the Week
TOPShyon: I am most interested in $Salesforce.com(CRM)$ because I believe AI could strengthen established enterprise software companies rather than simply replace them. Salesforce already has a strong customer base, valuable business data and deeply integrated workflows, giving it potential advantages in the AI era. However, I will not buy simply because $Bank of America(BAC)$ upgraded the stock to Buy with a $285 price target. I want to see clear evidence that its AI products can generate meaningful incremental revenue and earnings growth, rather than just increasing costs and expectations. For me, the key is whether Salesforce can turn its AI capabilities into sustainable monetization. I remain selective with software stocks, as attractive long-term potential must still be supported by reasonable valuations and solid fundamentals. @TigerStars @TigerClub @Tiger_comments @WallStreet_Tiger

Buying the Dip? Lessons from My TTD Wipeout, Before I Look at Tesla I'll be real: TTD cost me a lot more than a few kopi runs and chicken rice. Great company, great story, so I bought the dip, then bought the next one. Then earnings came and it dropped 30%+ in a single day. The business wasn't broken. I paid a "must be perfect" price for a company that only had to miss once. Lesson one: a great company is not the same as a great entry price. Now Tesla has just shown a Roadster that flies on cold-gas thrusters, jumping over cars and doing a barrel roll. Production is promised for 2028, flying on public roads isn't permitted, and Roadster dates have slipped since 2017. Here in Singapore, where a COE alone can cost more than a car overseas, nobody is flying anywhere soon. 😄 So I'm not buying
