Deluge’s 3.86x IPO Demand Puts S$0.60 in Focus: Can Earnings Support a Rerating?
🔥 $Deluge Corporation Limited(9DC.SI)$ brings a new fire-protection name to the SGX mainboard. Its IPO attracted 3.86 times subscription, while the public tranche drew 11.97 times demand. For investors, the next question is how much of that enthusiasm can translate into sustained buying after listing. [1]
Lianhe Zaobao reported an opening price of S$0.64 on 16 October, 6.67% above the S$0.60 offer price. This article uses that reported opening observation; it does not present a live quote or a closing return. [2]

The public tranche accounts for approximately 5.13% of the offering, calculated as 0.8 million divided by 15.6 million. A small allocation can produce a striking subscription multiple. That makes the placement result a useful second check on the breadth of demand.
Our view: the allocation data indicate appetite at the offer price. They do not establish how much investors will pay in the secondary market. Turnover, spreads and the ability to absorb profit-taking will provide a more useful follow-through test.
S$433 Million in Orders — with Execution Still to Come
Deluge had an order book of approximately S$433 million as at 16 September 2026, expected to be fulfilled primarily over the next four financial years. Its projects span transport, utilities, healthcare, aviation, data centres and other sectors. [3]
The investment case is therefore broader than a debut-day trade: an installed fire-protection system can lead to subsequent servicing work. Management has identified inspection, maintenance and repair services, complementary acquisitions and selective regional expansion, initially focused on Malaysia, as priorities. [1]
What matters for the share price: orders provide visibility, but cash generation depends on project timing, costs and collection. We would watch whether a larger workload improves earnings without tying up disproportionately more working capital.

Revenue declined approximately 16.5% and attributable profit approximately 42.4%, calculated from the table. However, gross margin improved from approximately 30.4% to 33.2%. The picture combines weaker activity with better gross profitability per revenue dollar.
Management attributed FY2026’s weaker performance to normalisation after unusually strong project execution in FY2025. [3] Investors still need evidence that future projects can rebuild the bottom line. An order book alone does not settle that question.
How Much Upside Can S$0.60 Support?
Using disclosed, rounded FY2026 post-offering EPS of S$0.06, the IPO price implies approximately 10x historical earnings. The following is an illustrative valuation sensitivity for the next earnings reassessment, with no assigned timing or probability. It is not a price-target forecast. [4]

Author calculations: S$0.06 × assumed P/E. Multiples are illustrative assumptions, not peer-derived fair values. Using unrounded EPS would change the results.
Our outlook: sustained upside would be easier to justify if earnings stabilise, maintenance activity expands and project conversion supports cash flow. A move towards the higher-multiple scenario without those improvements would leave more of the valuation dependent on sentiment.
S$0.60 is a reference price, not proven technical support. Equally, S$0.72 is an illustrative valuation outcome, not an established resistance level. Subscription multiples do not provide a reliable formula for predicting either the closing price or the next rally.
A Positive IPO Signal — with More Evidence Needed
Deluge’s demand figures and reported opening premium are encouraging for this issue. One small offering cannot establish the temperature of the entire Singapore IPO market. A stronger conclusion would require evidence across multiple listings: deal sizes, demand composition, sustained turnover and returns after the initial allocation effect fades.
For Deluge, our bias is constructive on demand, conditional on earnings delivery. The most useful next catalyst is evidence that orders are becoming attributable profit and cash.
💬 Would you wait for the next earnings update, or does the IPO valuation already offer enough appeal?

$Deluge Corporation Limited(9DC.SI)$ attracted strong IPO demand, with its public tranche oversubscribed 11.97 times. However, the real question is whether it can turn orders into sustainable profits.
Deluge reported approximately S$433 million in outstanding orders, around 3.7 times FY2026 revenue. This provides visibility, but project costs and delayed payments could pressure cash flow.
FY2026 revenue declined 16.5% to S$116.66 million, while attributable profit fell 42.4% to S$8.68 million. Encouragingly, gross margin improved from 30.4% to 33.2%.
At S$0.60, the IPO price implies roughly 10 times historical earnings. I remain cautiously optimistic, but would prioritise earnings recovery and cash flow over IPO hype.
Strong orders attract attention; consistent profits create lasting shareholder value.

At S$0.60, the IPO was valued at about 10x trailing FY2026 earnings, while Deluge had a sizeable S$410.8 million order book as at March. That provides several years of revenue visibility. However, FY2026 revenue fell 16.5% and net profit also declined, so the key question is how efficiently that order book converts into earnings.
The first trading day was encouraging, closing at S$0.64, 6.7% above IPO price, but that alone does not prove the valuation is cheap.
My approach: small position now, then add if the next results show order-book conversion, stable margins and healthy cash flow. A good IPO price gets my attention; execution earns a larger position.
However, I would not chase the stock purely because of its IPO popularity. FY2026 profit declined significantly despite an improvement in gross margin, so I want to see whether the company can convert its order book into sustainable earnings and stronger cash flow.
Personally, I would stay cautiously optimistic and monitor its post-listing price action before entering. An attractive IPO story is only the beginning; for me, long-term returns depend on earnings delivery and valuation. I prefer to buy based on business fundamentals rather than market hype. 📈
