Stocks to Watch Today: AI Stocks Face a Political Reality Check – Where Are the Opportunities?

November 4 is shaping up to be an interesting trading session. Wall Street is dealing with two competing forces: strong corporate earnings from the semiconductor sector and fresh uncertainty following the US midterm elections. Tuesday’s market performance was mixed. The Nasdaq gained 0.83%, the S&P 500 advanced 0.36%, but the Dow slipped 0.38%. However, the latest election results have introduced another concern. Democrats have secured control of both chambers of Congress, raising questions about potential changes to AI regulation, technology policy and government spending. I think today’s market could create opportunities for investors who distinguish between companies with strong earnings momentum and those relying mainly on market enthusiasm. Here are six stocks I would watch. 1.
Stocks to Watch Today: AI Stocks Face a Political Reality Check – Where Are the Opportunities?
TOPAndytan84: The oil price is expected to decline by double digit over the next 2 weeks as the war is coming to an end. There is really no point to pursue with Iran anymore as Trump administration is under pressure to stop now. All Arab countries are desperately preventing the war from escalating and want to de-escalate with the opening of strait of Hormuz. Once the strait is opened, everything will be back to normal. AMD Data Center Revenue Surges 97% — What’s Next for Wall Street?

November 4 is shaping up to be a major day for U.S. markets. The midterm elections have delivered a dramatic political shift, Nasdaq futures have staged a sharp rebound, AMD has just reported nearly 100% growth in its data center business, and another wave of earnings from Coherent, Qualcomm, Arm and AppLovin is coming after the closing bell. $Qualcomm(QCOM)$ $Coherent(COHR)$ $AppLovin Corporation(APP)$ $ARM Holdings(ARM)$ For investors, three themes are worth watching: how markets reprice political risk, whether AI companies can deliver real earnings growth,
AMD Data Center Revenue Surges 97% — What’s Next for Wall Street?
TOPShyon: I think the AI growth story remains intact, but I am becoming more selective with my investments. $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ nearly 100% data centre revenue growth is encouraging, while Arista and PLTR also show strong AI demand. However, I do not want to chase AI stocks blindly. Profit margins, free cash flow and sustainable earnings matter just as much as revenue growth. Tonight, I will be watching Coherent and Arm closely for signs of continued AI infrastructure demand. With political uncertainty and interest-rate expectations still affecting sentiment, I prefer to stay disciplined rather than react emotionally to market swings. My priority remains patience, diversification and consistent DCA. I am bullish on AI long term, but not every AI-related company will be a winner. Ultimately, I believe companies that turn strong demand into sustainable profits and cash flow will outperform those relying on growth expectations alone. @Tiger_comments @TigerStars @TigerClub

Big Options Bets: Nasdaq 28,800 Calls Explode as Crude $62 Puts PileUp

Options on futures are option contracts whose underlying assets are futures contracts. Trading volume and open interest reveal how capital is positioned across different expiries and strike prices. They provide useful signals on market expectations, risk appetite and potential support or resistance zones, although they should not be interpreted as direct bullish or bearish signals. Today’s analysis covers changes in large options trades and open interest on November 3 relative to November 2. These are the latest available data in this report and provide a reference for assessing positioning and risk appetite. The latest futures options data show continued divergence across markets. Nasdaq 100 put open interest remained elevated, although call volume and new call positions led during the la

TOPBlinkfans: 🐱 Understanding Options Positioning Through Open Interest I find options open interest useful because it gives me a better picture of how investors are positioning themselves across different markets. I would pay attention to Nasdaq call additions, WTI crude oil’s deferred $62 put exposure and gold positioning across different expiry dates. However, I must remember that increasing open interest does not automatically mean investors are bullish or bearish. I need to combine options data with actual price movements, volume and market trends. My takeaway: I use options positioning as an additional tool to understand market sentiment, identify potential support and resistance, and manage my trading risks.

AMD's growth went from 45% to 65.5%. One segment did all of it.

$Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$   AMD grew revenue 45% last quarter (44.7% unrounded, my maths). Its guide for this quarter implies 65.5% (my maths; AMD rounds to about 66%). Growth that speeds up at this size is rare. So the useful question is not "how fast". It is "where from", and "how much of it is disclosed". Here is the method first. Then what it shows on AMD. Then the part that should bother you. THE METHOD: THREE CHECKS ON ANY GUIDE Check one. Divide the guide midpoint by the same quarter last year. Not by last quarter. That gives the growth rate the company is actually promising, before its own rounding. Check two. Work out what share of revenue the fastest segment now carries, today and a year ago. If the share jumped, the company

🎁Midterms Shake the AI Trade: Can Strong Earnings Offset Policy Risk?

Hey Tigers 🐯! AI investors have a new variable to weigh after the U.S. midterm elections: how a change in Congress could affect regulation, spending and the pace of the data-center buildout. Reuters reported on November 4 that Democrats had captured majorities in both chambers of Congress. In the Asian-session market snapshot it described, $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ fell more than 2% before paring losses to about 0.8%.[4] That reaction followed an encouraging earnings signal from $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ , whose shares rose about 8% in extended trading on November 3. $Apple(AAPL)$ had fallen 1.9% during the regular session as investors weighed its outlook for margins a
🎁Midterms Shake the AI Trade: Can Strong Earnings Offset Policy Risk?
TOP苏36: believe investors should distinguish between political uncertainty and actual earnings deterioration. A change in Congress may increase regulatory scrutiny, but scrutiny alone does not destroy the AI investment thesis. The real danger is when policy uncertainty translates into delayed data center projects, higher operating costs or weaker customer spending. AMD's 97% data center revenue growth demonstrates that underlying demand remains strong. However, strong demand does not automatically justify any valuation. Investors must also examine margins, cash flow and execution. My strategy would be to avoid reacting emotionally to election headlines. I would maintain exposure to companies with proven earnings momentum while demanding a larger margin of safety when valuations become stretched. One important lesson: falling Treasury yields cannot compensate indefinitely for deteriorating earnings expectations. @WallStreet_Tiger [暗中观察]

🔴 Red vs. 🔵 Blue: Which Political Party Has Historically Been Better for Wall Street?

From presidential administrations to congressional control, nearly nine decades of market history reveal a more complicated relationship between politics and stock market performance. Does Wall Street prefer Democrats or Republicans? It's a question that resurfaces during every US election cycle. Republicans are often associated with lower taxes and business-friendly policies, while Democrats are frequently linked to greater regulation and government spending. But does one party actually deliver better stock market returns? 📊 Historical data suggests there is no clear winner. The S&P 500 has performed strongly under both parties, while congressional control and broader economic conditions have also played important roles. With the November 2026 midterm elections reshaping the balance o
🔴 Red vs. 🔵 Blue: Which Political Party Has Historically Been Better for Wall Street?
TOPSG_BING: If AI stocks continue to face pressure after the election, I would first focus on company guidance, as it reflects management's real-time outlook. Secondly, there are profit margins, because continued compression foreshadows deeper structural problems. Project approval is useful, but lagging behind; They indicate future potential, not current performance. Greater policy uncertainty alone is enough to justify taking a cautious stance, and even before analysts revise their earnings forecasts, it could justify lowering valuations. However, I would avoid taking drastic action until there is concrete evidence that fundamentals can be changed through guidance or profit margins. In short, I strike a balance between emotions and signals from within the company before adjusting my position.

Nasdaq Futures Stage a Sharp V-Shaped Rebound After the Midterms: What Is Wall Street Really Trading

The U.S. midterm elections have delivered a dramatic political shift, and Wall Street is already reacting. On November 4, as Democrats secured control of both chambers of Congress, U.S. stock futures initially came under heavy selling pressure. Nasdaq-100 futures fell roughly 2%, while S&P 500 futures dropped as much as 1.2%. Asian semiconductor stocks also declined as investors reassessed the potential impact of a new political landscape on AI infrastructure and technology regulation. But the selloff did not last at the same intensity. As trading continued, Nasdaq-100 futures recovered significantly, narrowing their losses to around 0.7%, while S&P 500 futures also regained part of their earlier decline. Within hours, the market shifted from aggressive selling to a sharp rebound.
Nasdaq Futures Stage a Sharp V-Shaped Rebound After the Midterms: What Is Wall Street Really Trading
TOP靖润: My choice of ② is mainly for short covering – it is too early to confirm a sustainable recovery. The two houses of parliament changed hands. The 2% drop in the morning session was purely a stress reaction from machines and retail investors. However, the subsequent V-shaped reversal did not generate much real incremental buying. It was just a short squeeze caused by short sellers taking profits and closing positions after the market opened. A glance at the overnight trading charts reveals that Nvidia, Meta, and Broadcom were all trading at around 0.2% higher or lower. If it were truly "fundamentals are more important than elections," or if "bottom-fishing funds were pouring in," these core assets would have risen from the ground long ago. The current market characteristics are typical of "large funds watching the show from the sidelines, while short-term leveraged funds are cutting each other off". Don't think the Democrats' sweep of both houses was just a false alarm. Tax increases, anti-monopoly regulation of tech giants, and bottlenecks in approvals for AI infrastructure—these policy challenges have not yet officially fallen. The sharp drop in early trading was due to the market making advance provisions for regulatory risks, and the subsequent recovery was merely a temporary lull in panic. Don't gamble on the so-called "policy bottom" at this point. Once Friday's non-farm payroll data is released, let's see if the yield on long-term US Treasury bonds will rise again to 5.3%. As long as interest rates don't fall, this V-shaped reversal is a bull trap. If you rush in to buy, you'll most likely be stuck halfway up the mountain again. Hold onto your cash and wait until this wave of short-term floating shares has been cleared before making a decision.

Benedict Lim's Options Playbook: From a House Analogy to Straddles

Event Recap | Tiger Brokers Singapore | 28 October 2026 Subtitle: Understand Before You Trade: How Options Work, What Drives Their Price, and Why Strategies Like the Straddle Carry Real Costs Are options really as dangerous as people say, or is the real risk not knowing what you are doing? At our latest Tiger Brokers Singapore investment seminar, guest speaker Benedict Lim walked first-timers through three themes: how options work, what makes them cheap or expensive, and the strategies and risks that come with trading them. [About the Speaker] Benedict Lim is the host of one of the largest retail investor meetup groups in Singapore, and a stock market trainer on U.S. options with over 15 years of experience in the stock markets. Benedict Lim's Options Playbook: From a House Analogy to Straddles
TOPJerry Lam: 🐯 **The most memorable sentence from this seminar was: Options are not simply a directional gamble, but a comprehensive judgment of price, time, and volatility. ** I believe there are three common mistakes beginners make: only focusing on the leveraged returns of options while ignoring the maximum losses; They only judge the rise and fall of stock prices, but ignore the decay of time value; We only see that premium was very expensive before the earnings report, but we don't understand the IV Crush after the earnings report. For example, when buying straddle options, even if you successfully predict that the stock price will fluctuate significantly, you may still end up losing money if the actual volatility is not enough to cover the premium on both sides. For me, options are more suitable as a risk management and auxiliary investment tool than a shortcut to getting rich quick. ** If I am bullish on a stock in the long term, I prefer to study cash-backed put options; If you already hold underlying shares, consider covered call options. However, both carry risks, and premium cannot be considered risk-free income. Before trading, I check four things: **Maximum potential loss, implied volatility, bid-ask spread, and position size. ** What truly determines long-term investment performance is not how many complex strategies one masters, but whether one can understand risk, control positions, and patiently wait when there is no obvious advantage. ** Understanding the rules first, then considering the returns—this is the most important lesson in options investing! 🐯

Benedict Lim's Playbook: Straddles, Strangles and the Risks Behind Them
TOP苏36: Volatility Is Not Free: The Hidden Cost of Betting on Uncertainty The biggest lesson I took from Benedict’s session is that being unsure about direction does not mean an options strategy is automatically safer. A straddle or strangle essentially trades volatility rather than direction. However, the real challenge is predicting whether the market's actual movement will exceed what is already priced into the options Consider a major earnings announcement. A stock may jump 5%, yet traders buying options beforehand could still lose money if implied volatility collapses after the announcement. This is the classic volatility crush There are three variables to evaluate: the expected price movement, the combined premiums, and the time remaining before expiry My takeaway is simple: Being right about volatility is not enough; you must be right about its magnitude and timing. Benedict Lim's Playbook: What Makes an Option Expensive? Time, Volatility and Liquidity
TOPJerry Lam: 🐯 If I had to choose, I would prefer to stand on the seller's side where the value of time decreases, but only if the risk is controllable! ** Option buyers need to judge the right direction, magnitude, and timing simultaneously. Even if the stock price moves in line with expectations, they may still incur losses due to the loss of time value or a decrease in implied volatility. In contrast, the seller can benefit from the passage of time. I prefer to collect premium at the price I'm willing to buy through Cash-Secured Put options. Alternatively, after holding the underlying shares, sell the **Covered Call**. However, a higher win rate for sellers does not necessarily mean better returns. In the event of a sharp drop or surge in stock prices, the losses and opportunity costs may far exceed the premium received. Before trading, I focus on checking three key indicators: **Implied volatility IV, bid-ask spread, and expiration time. ** Especially before earnings reports, we cannot only focus on high premium; we must also be wary of the huge price risks reflected in volatility. My principle: I'd rather earn less premium than sell risks I can't afford. ** Options trading is not simply about choosing buyers or sellers, but about choosing strategies that suit the current market environment, risk tolerance, and investment objectives. Time is the seller's friend, but risk management is the guarantee of long-term profitability! ** 🐯
