Economic and Market Review August 2025

$Dow Jones(.DJI)$ $S&P 500(.SPX)$ $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ OverviewDespite a rocky start to the month, August saw Morningstar’s US Market index up on the month 2.1%, with the S&P500 up 1.9%. Finding Opportunities In Expiring Options | #OptionsHandbook EP045

Same-day expiration (0DTE) options are extremely active, with heavy volume attracting skilled traders. For example, recent $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ 0DTE contracts saw very strong trading activity. But alongside these opportunities come serious risks. 📘 If you want to explore how to trade them, start with The Options Handbook for a deeper dive. (And join the events at the end to win rewards!) 🎁 ▶ Racing Against Time ⏰ Time doesn't always pass at the same speed, at least not in options. The closer you get to expiration, the faster that "extra" value in an option disappears. For option sellers, this often means you don't have to hold your position for long, and

I have to admit, I won't be jumping in to catch a sharp falling knife like Figma's $Figma(FIG)$   recent 20% plunge. The volatility is a bit too much for my taste, especially after seeing the stock take such a hit post-earnings. I'm not Cathie Wood with her massive ARK Invest funds to cushion the risk—haha, I wish I had that kind of firepower! Given that Figma surpassed revenue estimates with $249.6 million against the expected $248.8 million, and even turned a modest $846,000 profit compared to a huge $827.9 million loss last year, it's tempting. But the lock-up expiry and the 35% share extension some investors agreed to make me cautious. That kind of overhang could keep the pressure on the stock price for a while. I'm more inclined to w

E-mini Russell 2000 Index Futures (RTY) Targets Wave 5 Diagonal

The short-term Elliott Wave analysis for E-Mini Russell 2000 Index Futures (RTY) indicates a rally from the August 1, 2025 low, unfolding as a diagonal pattern. Starting from that low, wave 1 peaked at 2338.1, followed by a wave 2 dip concluding at 2257.59. The Index then surged in wave 3, displaying an internal structure of five waves, as illustrated in the one-hour chart. Broadcom’s $Broadcom(AVGO)$ earnings were strong, and that $10B custom AI order shows big cloud players want alternatives to Nvidia. ASICs may not fully replace GPUs, but they’re cheaper, more efficient for inference, and make Broadcom an important player in the AI ecosystem. Still, I’m cautious about chasing AVGO after a +12% spike, since history shows it often cools off post-earnings. Meanwhile, Nvidia’s dip looks more attractive — despite competition, it still dominates training workloads and the CUDA ecosystem, which are hard to replace. For now, I’d watch Broadcom for consolidation while eyeing NVDA’s $NVIDIA Corp(NV

TESLA ELON NEW ASTONISHING PAY PACKAGE

BREAKING: Tesla has released its 2025 proxy, and it includes an unprecedented $1 trillion pay package for Elon Musk (if he meets all objectives). If Elons wants to receive the full award, he will need to create $7.5 trillion in shareholder value, making @Tesla an $8.5 trillion company. The plan spans 10 years. The additional shares Elon could receive would push his stake in Tesla to at least 25%. There are 12 tranches, with each worth about 1% of the company. The first one would come at a $2 trillion market cap. To capture each tranche, Elon not only has to meet a market cap milestone, but one of the operation milestones as well. Meaning if Elon doesn't deliver, he gets paid nothing, making this a very shareholder friendly one. Elon will have to hold the new shares after he receives them f

His $56 billion dollar pay package was rejected already. So why do people think a $1 trillion one will fly? The same reasons that caused the earlier rejection still exist. Both people who "negotiated" the package are too closely linked to Elon and got substantially rich by being on the Board of Directors (sed court statement of Robyn Denholm). It has no clause in it that forces Elon to work exclusively for Tesla. He is already a substantial owner of Tesla with 13% of all outstanding shares, so there's no requirement to incentivize him further with the promise of more shares.

Alphabet (GOOG) is currently a $2.84 trillion market cap, so a $3 trillion valuation in 2025 seems possible, given its strong fundamentals, AI and cloud leadership, and a recent favorable antitrust ruling。。。 Alphabet remains a compelling choice among the Mag 7 due to its lower valuation compared to peers, strong free cash flow, and exposure to long-term trends Investing in a diversified ETF like MAGS spreads risk across top tech companies, while picking individual stocks offers greater upside with the right choices, so combining both is a practical way to balance risk and return Selling into strength helps lock in profits during uncertainty, but holding for the next leg up depends on belief in Alphabet’s long-term growth drivers; the best choice relies on individual risk tolerance and inve

I’ve been watching Opendoor $Opendoor Technologies Inc(OPEN)$ closely, and this rally is hard to ignore. A +280% YTD move with short interest above 20% is no joke—it’s the kind of setup that makes both traders and investors pay attention. The Carvana comparison might be bold, but with Reddit hype, I get why it’s being mentioned. Still, I’m cautious. Hedge funds are shorting for a reason—OPEN faces profitability issues, and housing isn’t strong. Momentum can fuel a squeeze, but fundamentals always return. To me, this looks more like a showdown between retail and institutions than a real growth story. I wouldn’t chase at these levels, but it stays on my watchlist. If momentum holds, $8 is possible. For me though, it’s more of a short-term play tha

$Figma(FIG)$ Is it a buy if it dips under $50? At sub-$50, the valuation begins to look more reasonable, especially given Figma’s revenue growth and narrowing losses. However, the key risk is the looming supply from lock-up expiration. Even with the extension for 35% of shares, significant float could still hit the market, adding selling pressure. I would treat a dip under $50 as a speculative entry point, but only with strict risk management and the expectation of near-term volatility. How do you view the extension? The partial extension is a short-term stabiliser. It signals some institutional confidence, but does not fully remove the overhang. Roughly two-thirds of shares could still come available, which limits the upside until supply is absor

$1 Trillion Musk Payday: Tesla's Supercycle Spark or Overhyped Gamble?

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Tesla's newly proposed CEO compensation package could catapult Elon Musk to a $1 trillion payday if the company achieves unprecedented market cap milestones, starting from $2 trillion and escalating to $8.5 trillion over 10 years. This ambitious plan, tied to aggressive performance targets and Musk's role in CEO succession, has the board touting it as essential for Tesla becoming the world's most valuable company. With Tesla's shares at $322.27, up 2% amid Musk's AI lawsuit win, and the S&P 500 at 6,512.34, Nasdaq at 21,918.45, and Bitcoin at $123,456, the VIX at 14.12 reflects calm amid tariffs (30% on EU/Mexico, 35% on Canada) and oil at $74.50/barrel. When to buy Palantir

$PLTR dropped from 189 to 142 since August 13th. The big question is where do you buy during this pull back? There 2 scenarios that present the best opportunities to go long. 1. Wait for the market to pull back. The Nasdaq is up 40%+ and SP500 is up 35% since April. If we see a deeper correction in the next 4 weeks, PLTR can retest the previous ATH at 125 from Feb 19th. A successful backtest at this level will present a prime opportunity for a bounce back to 189 and up to 200+. 2. Wait for $PLTR to reclaim 163. Once PLTR can reclaim 163 and hold above this level for at least 4 trading days, It will setup for 179,189 again. Trying to trade PLTR in this current range can be frustrating so I'd preserve capital until you see the two levels above. PLTR has earnings coming up on November 3rd so

$Gemini Group Global Corp.(GMNI)$ $Figure Technology Solutions (FT Intermediate)(FIGR)$ $Circle Internet Corp.(CRCL)$ I believe Figure Technology’s IPO is the most consequential blockchain-fintech listing since Circle. Priced at $18–$20 per share, aiming for $526M in proceeds, a $4.1B valuation, and with a $50M anchor from Duquesne Family Office, this isn’t hype; it’s a seismic shift. When Goldman Sachs, Jefferies, and BofA Securities lead the syndicate, the signal is clear: Wall Street is betting on blockchain rails at scale. 🗓️ IPO Calendar 🌟 Figure (FIGR): Pricing 10Sep25, trading 11Sep25 on Nasdaq 🌟 Gemini (GEMI): Pricing & listing 11Sep25 🌟 Klarna (KLAR)
📊🚀💡 FIGR IPO: Blockchain Finance Ignites Wall Street; Is Figure Set to Redefine Capital Markets Forever? 💡🚀📊
TOPTui Jude: The point about Figure’s Provenance Blockchain processing 27B+ transactions with 168 partners is exactly what separates this from other fintechs. That kind of infrastructure moat isn’t something you can replicate quickly, and it lines up with how $NVDA built scale in GPUs. The Duquesne $50M anchor just confirms this isn’t retail froth but deep institutional conviction.
