Aug 2025 update: Cast Wider Net in HK Stocks

August 2025 profits increased by $17,000, a 3.4% gain. I recorded dividends of $23,000, with $16,000 already received in my account this year.   Both Singapore and Hong Kong dividend stocks performed well in August, driven by the anticipation of a US Federal Reserve rate cut.   I believe the Hong Kong stock market is in the early stages of a bull run. Hong Kong index ETFs are reasonably priced and not in bubble territory. Many small and medium enterprises listed in Hong Kong remain undervalued.   August is a busy earnings season. I closely monitored company interim results and profit warnings. I added several stocks with solid foundations and decent dividend yields to my portfolio, along with a few undervalued Hong Kong tech stocks. $T

Aug. Byebye! Sep. Buybuy! Could September Effect Bring Buy Point?

As of August 28th’s close, $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ and $S&P 500(.SPX)$ are up 2.76% and 2.56% respectively. The pullback that the market had been waiting for never came, yet the enthusiasm has already cooled down significantly. What happened in August? Aug. Byebye! Sep. Buybuy! Could September Effect Bring Buy Point?
TOPShyon: August was more about sector rotation than big gains for me. My portfolio stayed green, mainly from defensive names and trimming some tech. NVIDIA’s $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ strong earnings didn’t move the market much, which reminded me to stay cautious on expectations and not chase momentum blindly. For September, I see the “September Effect” less as superstition and more as seasonal rebalancing—funds trimming and investors locking profits. Volatility usually rises, so I’ll be careful with short-term trades but stay steady with long-term positions. It’s a month where discipline matters more than prediction. On dips, I’m watching Tesla $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ and Palantir $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ , while healthcare offers stability $Oscar Health, Inc.(OSCR)$ . September may be choppy, but it often sets up attractive entry points before year-end, which is why I’m keeping cash ready. @Tiger_comments @TigerStars

$MoneyMax Fin(5WJ.SI)$ almost multi bagger , given the rapid growth over the last two years . Added in only the start of the year as I was pretty unsure and now the prices has settled down . The stock price growth is supported by it's fundamentals as it's reported a huge increase in its net profit for half year 2025 . But the question now will be whether the growth can be sustained ?  Given that the economy is expected not to perform well, I think the growth of this company will be supported by more people buying gold and doing more pawn brokering

TOPkoolgal: Top Glove is My Bagholder Badge of Honour. I am down 90%. That is not a typo. That is a latex laced lesson in humility. A bagholder is someone who clings to a stock long after its glory days are gone, watching it tumble while whispering sweet nothings like maybe it will bounce. It is the financial equivalent of holding the bouquet after the wedding has been called off. I was that person. I believed in Top Glove. I held the bag. I even considered framing the chart as modern art. But here is the twist. I don't see it as failure. I see it as tuition. Top Glove taught me: That hype fades but fundamentals endure. That conviction without discipline is just romanticism. That every scar in my portfolio can become a story of growth. Since then I have rebuilt with purpose, focusing on fundamentals. I did not just lose money. I gained wisdom. To every bagholder: May your next conviction be wiser & stronger. @TigerEvents @TigerStars @CaptainTiger @TigerClub @Tiger_SG

🎯📊⚙️ NVIDIA: Buybacks, Blackwell, and the China Variable; Is This the Next Leg or a Controlled Cool-off? ⚙️📊🎯

$NVIDIA(NVDA)$ $Microsoft(MSFT)$ $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ I’m fully convinced this is a pivotal stretch for $NVDA: the numbers remain exceptional, execution is still elite, and yet the tape is forcing a sober re-rating of expectations. I’m tactically positioned long and I’m treating this as a high-conviction, data-led navigation rather than a dopamine trade. 💡 Conviction snapshot I believe the $60B buyback approved on 26Aug25 materially changes downside elasticity. I’m confident Blackwell demand and an annual cadence keep the revenue engine compounding. I’m watching the China pathway as the narrative swing factor. TOPTui Jude: What jumps out to me is your point on $DDS outpacing Nvidia and Big Tech over five years. That’s such a strong reminder about contrarian winners, and it actually made me look back at how $META and $GOOGL lagged despite all the AI headlines. HS:🧠 I liked how you framed Daniel Ives’ $5T market cap call alongside Nvidia’s $60B buyback, because it connects sentiment with hard capital allocation. I keep thinking about $MSFT’s own AI capex because your capex chart highlights the same demand driver.

$Nucor(NUE)$ $Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B)$ $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ 🔥 Buffett’s 6.6M-share bet on $NUE isn’t about chasing steel’s cycle; it’s about owning the backbone of America’s AI and infrastructure buildout, and that makes it a Buy with targets at 153.63 and 159–162. 🎯 Executive Summary I’m convinced Buffett’s quiet steel play isn’t just contrarian; it’s a statement that even his branded confidence can’t revive housing on its own, as Bloomberg noted. That contrast underscores how foundational $NUE actually is. Berkshire’s latest 13F shows a fresh 6.6M-share buy in Q2, revealing Nucor as one of the “mystery stocks.” Price sits near 148 with analysts’ average target at 1

Labubu 4.0 is quite a phenomenon—despite lower quality and a steep 79 RMB price, demand is still strong, with minis trading above 100 RMB. I actually like the idea of spelling out “LOVE” with the new alphabet Labubus for Chinese Valentine’s Day. Skincare or jewelry work well depending on budget, but I’d personally choose something with investment value, like stocks. A good stock pick not only shows thoughtfulness but can also appreciate over time, unlike most traditional gifts, which lose value quickly. Alibaba revenue came in at RMB 247.652 billion, below the estimate of RMB 253.17 billion. I acknowledge that this miss is a concern, but I believe it reflects the company's strategic investments rather than a lack of growth potential. The free cash flow recorded a net outflow of RMB 18.815 billion, primarily due to increased spending on cloud infrastructure and investment in Taobao Flash Sales. $Alibaba(BABA)$ Alibaba’s Q2 2025 earnings revealed a mixed bag, with revenue at RMB 247.652 billion (up 5.8% YoY but below the RMB 253.17 billion estimate) and a net FCF outflow of RMB 18.815 billion, driven by heavy investments in cloud infrastructure and Taobao Flash Sales.
