Market Sell-Off: 4 Charts I'm Watching for Potential Reversal Signals

The recent sell-off has pushed several major tech stocks into technically oversold territory.

Here are four charts worth watching:

📉 $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ — 200DMA Loss Changes the Picture

Price decisively broke below the lower Bollinger Band. The last time this happened, the market went on to form a bottom.

The key difference this time is the loss of the 200-day moving average. Does that make this sell-off different? That's the level of concern to watch.

🔻 $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ — Extreme Oversold Signal

Nvidia has completely breached its lower Bollinger Band, with the entire candle trading outside the band.

The last time this happened was April 4, 2025, one day before the market bottom.

Be careful chasing shorts at these levels. A sharp reversal is possible.

👀 $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ — Showing Relative Strength

Amazon managed to fill its gap and bounce from the 20-day and 50-day moving averages while much of the market was selling off.

The stock is under pressure after hours, but if a technical rebound develops, its relative strength makes it worth watching.

⚡ $Broadcom(AVGO)$ — Weekly Chart Already Oversold

Even Broadcom's weekly chart is showing oversold conditions.

The gap near $321 could offer an interesting risk/reward opportunity for short-term scalpers. A larger reversal is also possible, although confirmation is still needed.

Oversold conditions don't guarantee a bottom, but they do make chasing downside increasingly risky. Watch for confirmation before committing to either direction.

Base case: NVIDIA’s November 17 earnings could extend the November 6 rebound, but only if its outlook materially clears an already very strong growth bar. The 2.78% regular-session bounce to US$186.64 looks more like an oversold rebound than a confirmed trend reversal: the medium-term technical trend remains in clear decline, and the rebound’s 179.7 million shares traded was below the prior day’s 306.1 million-share selloff.

    Why earnings could sustain it

Expectations remain exceptional, but the business has recently exceeded them. Consensus calls for Q3 revenue of US$109.17B and EPS of US$2.477 —up 91.5% and 90.5% year on year, respectively. That revenue forecast also implies a 13.46% sequential increase from FY2027 Q2’s actual US$96.22B; EPS implies an 11.58% sequential increase .
NVIDIA beat the prior quarter’s consensus: Q2 revenue was US$96.22B , US$4.06B above consensus, while EPS w
