Has your spring spirit reached the right level?

  • Tried a qingtuan or a chocolate egg: what’s your pick?

  • Went outdoors for a spring outing / treasure hunt

  • Cleared your mind and did a bit of spring cleaning

  • Sent a holiday greeting to family or friends far away

Write Your Own Memory of Spring

Behind every holiday is a love for life. In the East, we eat qingtuan, swing on swings, and fly kites, embracing the idea that “all things grow at this time, clean and bright.”

In the West, people paint Easter eggs, roll for luck, and search for bunny tracks to celebrate the renewal of life.

Question for you:

What special traditions or outing plans do you have for this week?

  • 🌸 Are you heading to the mountains to catch the peach blossoms in full bloom?

  • 🍵 Is it a cozy afternoon with homemade salted egg yolk qingtuan prepared by the elders?

  • 🥚 Or maybe the sound of neighborhood children laughing as they hunt for Easter eggs on the grass?

Share your local traditions or your "Spring Getaway" destination (and photos!) in the comments.

Whether it’s a trek through the pink peach blossoms or a picnic in a hidden city park, let’s piece together the most complete global spring map during this market holiday week! 🗺️✨

Spring for me isn’t about doing something big—it’s about slowing down and being present. Most years, I don’t chase packed schedules or travel far. Instead, I just take it easy, spend time with my family, and enjoy the simple moments that we don’t always get during busy weeks.

We might go for a casual walk, grab some good food, or just hang out at home talking about random things. There’s something about this season that makes everything feel a bit lighter—like it’s okay to pause, reset, and just enjoy each other’s company without any rush. No big plans, but it always feels meaningful.

If there’s one “tradition” I stick to, it’s this: being around the people who matter. That’s my version of a spring reset—no pressure, no noise, just a calm and steady way to recharge before jumping back into everything again.

🌟🌟🌟 Today we celebrate the resurrection joy of Easter & the ancestral reverence of Qingming.

At its heart both festivals are about Spring.

Easter: A celebration of spiritual rebirth, new beginnings & hope.

Qingming: It means Clear & Bright.  It is the most important day for ancestor worship in Chinese culture.

It is the only time of the year where my shopping list includes Easter eggs and joss paper.

I will be going to Church this morning, followed by a lovely outing with my family at Gardens by the Bay. Then there is the Easter Egg Hunt for the kids and eating lots of Hot Cross Buns & Qingtuan.

The prevailing theme today is Rejuvenation.

As we usher in the beauty of Spring, let's take a page from Benjamin Graham's book of wisdom, not just for stocks but for life:

The intelligent investor is a realist.

He is a realist that knows while seasons change & loved ones pass, the dividends of family time & peace never lose their value.

Nothing exciting, but mainly to take a well deserved break over a long weekend, and prepare for my holiday in the next 2 weeks. Also preparing for some qingming stuff with my parents

For a true "Spring Getaway," a trip to the coast or a quiet countryside inn is the goal. It is about trading screen time for fresh air, local seasonal delicacies, and the slow pace that this particular week encourages.
