Explosive Earnings Growth, Pop Mart Hits New Highs
Pop Mart’s $POP MART(09992)$ latest earnings report has shaken up the entire industry. The Chinese toy company, best known for blind boxes like Labubu, reported first-half 2025 revenue of RMB 13.88 billion (US$1.93 billion), surging 204% year-on-year. Net profit skyrocketed 397% to RMB 4.57 billion — a growth curve that most retailers can only dream of. The main driver behind this explosive growth is the rise of Labubu, the sharp-toothed, long-eared anti-hero character that has transformed from a niche symbol into a global trend. With higher pricing and stronger margins overseas, Labubu has significantly boosted the company’s profitability. Palantir's 6-Day Plunge: Is the Selloff Over or Just Beginning?
$S&P 500(.SPX)$$NVIDIA(NVDA)$ Palantir Technologies ( $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ ) is enduring a brutal downturn, with shares tumbling for the sixth consecutive session on August 20, 2025, closing down 1.10% at $156.01—a 18% retreat from its record high of $190.50 on August 12. This extended slump, the longest since April 2024, has erased $73 billion in market value despite a stellar Q2 earnings report that pushed revenue past $1 billion for the first time. With the S&P 500 at 6,466.58, Bitcoin at $115,000, and oil at $75/barrel amid 30-35% tariffs, the tech sector's volatility is amplified. The VIX at 14.49 suggests calm, but Palantir's RSI at 4
Investing in China: How to gain exposure with ETFs
After the U.S. imposed tariffs in April 2025, tensions rose between the U.S. and China. However, Chinese stocks remained strong, buoyed by economic stimulus efforts from Beijing such as interest rate reductions and incentives for the housing market. Although some Chinese companies are listed on U.S. exchanges, most are traded in mainland China and Hong Kong, which may restrict access for international investors. Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) offer a practical and economical way for those interested in investing in Chinese stocks. Takeaways: ● China ETFs provide exposure to the world's second-largest economy and stock market. ● Key Chinese indexes include the large-cap FTSE China 50 Index and the broad-based MSCI China Index. ● Chinese stocks historically have traded at lower price-to-earnin
$Intel(INTC)$ please do your own research. "Today, SoftBank announced a $2 billion investment in Intel, acquiring shares at $23 each and sending the stock up ~6–10%. This vote of confidence underscores potential collaboration benefits—especially with SoftBank’s ties to Arm and its broader AI ecosystem. Meanwhile, reports surfaced that the U.S. government is considering acquiring a 10% equity stake via Chips Act grants. While this raised concerns of dilution and political complexity, it signals high-level strategic recognition of Intel’s importance in domestic chip production. Intel’s turnaround under new CEO Lip-Bu Tan (appointed March 2025) includes significant restructuring: layoffs, canceled fab projects, and refocusing on core stre
$Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B)$ Berkshire Hathaway's recent stock purchases signal confidence in undervalued opportunities amidst elevated market valuations. The conglomerate trimmed Apple and Bank of America holdings, but maintains conviction in their long-term moats, while initiating a new position in UnitedHealth. Berkshire's massive $344B cash hoard offers significant firepower to accumulate on selective undervalued opportunities, and future stock buybacks. While a lack of near-term catalysts could prolong its consolidation, I view it as an opportunity for investors to load up while the market remains myopic on Berkshire stock.
Why Palantir Technologies (PLTR) Shares Are Plunging Today
Why Palantir Technologies (PLTR) Shares Are Plunging Today $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ What Happened? Shares of data analytics company Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ:PLTR) fell 6% in the morning session after a prominent short-seller reiterated its bearish stance on the company, citing significant overvaluation and heavy insider selling. The downturn was primarily triggered by a renewed warning from short-selling firm Citron Research, which stated the stock's valuation is "super disconnected from its fundamentals" and drew comparisons to the dot-com bubble. This commentary amplified existing investor concerns about the company's high valuation multiples. The stock market overreacts to news, and big price drops can present good oppor
$Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ PLTR: taking loss. I had held net short positions for 36 PLTR shares for very long and it had been a source of my anxiety when PLTR flew out of the solar system, leaving all other companies still in orbit. With the recent retrace by up to 20% from its $190 high on 12th Aug, decided to take loss wig a 20% discount 😅 Sometimes I think accept that I am wrong in my trade idea is better than holding it for eyesore and 'hoping' things will get better. So now PLTR had dropped 20% within 6 trading days, I am turning long with a sold put with strike at $165. PLTR valuation is still stomach churning high even with the recent drop, and the Citron research short sellers adds volatility to the downside for no
$Alphabet(GOOG)$ GOOG: took 28% profit on these GOOG shares when I sold them at $200. Protecting my gains. Actually the motivation was to consolidate positions. I already owned several long dated calls on GOOGL that control few hundred GOOGL shares if exercised. So the legacy stock position of long 22 shares were not really doing anything except waiting for appreciation. Since market seems bearish, decided to take profit and let my remaining long calls ride the e volatility. Their long call decays were offset by selling short dated calls as well so the downside risk is quite well defined at this point.
