TSMC and Elon Musk's Terafab Project Discuss U.S. Semiconductor Manufacturing Partnership
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is in talks with Elon Musk's Terafab project to form a joint venture aimed at establishing advanced end-to-end semiconductor manufacturing capacity in the United States. The collaboration seeks to expand domestic semiconductor production, with Tesla as a key customer for Intel's 14A process node at the Terafab AI chip complex in Austin. Terafab has already placed orders for manufacturing equipment, with initial silicon wafer production expected in several years.
