2026 Tariff War Erupts Again!
Trump announces that starting February 1, 2026, all goods exported from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland to the United States will be subject to a 10% tariff, which will rise to 25% on June 1, and remain in place until Greenland is fully acquired.
Trump explained that the move was prompted by recent deployments of these countries’ military forces to Greenland with unclear intentions. Therefore, to safeguard global peace and security, the U.S. must take strong and immediate action.
He emphasized that for many years, the U.S. has given European nations economic and security benefits. Now it's time for them to reciprocate. Denmark lacks the ability to defend Greenland, and the potential threats from China and Russia justify U.S. intervention.
He also linked this action to the Golden Dome defense system, claiming that only by controlling Greenland can the U.S. maximize the effectiveness of its multibillion-dollar defense investment.
