It’s not the only way to learn, but it’s a handy guide to help you learn faster, trade smarter, and avoid unnecessary detours. 🚀

take an options course, or watch a video. That's a good first step and probably the fastest. if you start by reading a book, it might be harder to learn. after which, start paper trade, or in my case, Live trading to get practical experience.
lastly, if you can be in a forum or community to discuss, that's an underrated way to improve your skills and get new ideas very quickly.

Videos, especially on YouTube, have been the easiest way to grasp concepts, since I can replay them until it clicks. Handbooks also help by organizing strategies and lessons in a clear, structured way. I find it useful to take notes and summarize key points to reinforce my learning.
Communities like Tiger or Reddit are valuable too. Even without trading yet, reading real examples and mistakes helps me understand how experienced traders think, making my learning faster and more practical. Seeing others’ successes and failures also motivates me to stay disciplined and patient as I progress.

A structured introduction on basic and advanced strategies would be very helpful to onboard. It would be helpful also if we can taught on how to navigate the Tiger platform to perform those trades. @Universe宇宙 @DiAngel @Wayneqq @LuckyPiggie @Fenger1188 @Kaixiang @SR050321 @SPOT_ON @HelenJanet @Success88 come join
每天记录策略逻辑、Greeks、进出场原因、心理状态。复盘比学新东西更有用。还有心态建设避免期权交易波动大,导致短期盈亏失衡而偏离策略。 @Tiramisu2020
1) read about the basics
2) use a demo account to try.
3) review the notes and mark out the lessons learned
4) use real money to trade. start small and get a hang of things. (manage risk, observe market impact on the derivative, if it is within expectations of understanding of the use of options)
Having friends or community with same goal and interest will ensure continuity as it is a boring journey if you do not have anyone to share the win/lose and easy to lose momentum and sight of moving forward.
Write down important rules to remind oneself so that you wouldn’t make stupid mistakes and do review on your trade to learn from every one of it.
Control loss: avoid naked call/put, allocate each position in sizes you can accept to lose, invest in good business, learn volatility how it helps and how it does not. Diversify when able.
Happy trading. May the winning comes to us all.[USD][USD][USD]
Another way is to join Tiger Brokers' Options Boost Camp in Telegram where I can ask and learn from fellow Tiger Friends in the community.
The key to success is as always "Practise , Practise and Practise ".
Finally I would read the Tiger Brokers' latest book on Options Trading which is an excellent guide to learn Options Trading.

You already own the stock and you buy a put option in it. This put gives you the right to sell the stock at a specific price before a certain date.
Why it matters: If the stock falls below the strike price , your put gains value, offsetting your losses. If the stock rises, you still enjoy the upside (minus the cost of the put).
A Protective Put is for the investor who believes in the company he invests in but also to protect what he has built.
When used well Options Trading is a powerful tool to enhance your returns .

The best lesson on options trading so far is by fellow Tiger trader, Terra_Incognita, who had recently done a free talk via the Tiger's app in September 2025. I listened intently and was engaged because he shared from his real life options trading experiences, with a high success rate, and used clear examples. Now I am raring to do options trading, again!
I hope one day when I do get awarded with the options handbook by Tiger, I will learn even more in my options trading journey .
Way to go, Tiger!
Learning how to apply different option strategies in different markets outlooks and conditions is a must.
A good course with good mentor is the best but costly.
YouTube videos most of the time can provide better learning experience than books.
Forum is the place to go for continuing study path to master the material.
I will say combine for all three with practical experience is my way to go for learning option trading.

💡 My options journey:
• Started with YouTube – Option Alpha’s free playlist gave me a clear intro to calls, puts, and Greeks.
• Read “Option Volatility & Pricing” by Sheldon Natenberg – finally understood why implied volatility matters and how to price risk.
• Joined Tiger Community & Reddit r/options – real trade breakdowns and mistakes from experienced traders helped me avoid beginner traps.
🚀 Biggest lesson: Start small (even paper trade first) when testing a new strategy. It’s better to learn with tiny positions than to pay for mistakes with real money.
✅ These steps made my learning faster, more practical, and built confidence to trade live without feeling lost.

Would you like me to make this shorter & punchier (social-media style) or keep it longer & more detailed (to maximize chances for “high-quality share” rewards)?
