Backed by Nvidia and Government! Can Intel Close Above $35 This Week?
$NVIDIA(NVDA)$ will invest $5 billion to purchase Intel stock at $23.28 per share, slightly below Intel’s previous closing price of $24.90. After the investment, Nvidia will become one of Intel’s largest shareholders, with an estimated stake of ≥4%.
Boosted by Nvidia’s investment, $Intel(INTC)$ jumped 30% in pre-market trading, while Nvidia rose 3%.
In contrast, Intel is soaring with joy[Happy][Happy], while AMD and TSMC are both falling[Cry]
Nvidia and Intel will jointly develop PC and data center chips. Nvidia’s AI chips will be paired with Intel CPUs, using Nvidia’s proprietary technology to enable faster chip interconnects. On the consumer side, Intel will gain access to customized GPUs that can be paired with its CPUs, giving it a competitive edge in the PC market. $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ fell about 4% and $Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ dropped around 2%.
Currently, TSMC is Nvidia’s primary foundry, but Nvidia may expand its business to Intel in the future. Meanwhile, AMD’s data center and AI chips will face direct competition from the Nvidia–Intel alliance.
Backed by US government & Nvidia, Is Intel now like a tiger with wings?
Intel has recently accumulated significant capital, including a $2 billion investment from SoftBank and $5.7 billion from the U.S. government. New CEO Lip-Bu Tan is driving operational streamlining and building fabs based on demand. Still, Intel’s foundry business needs to secure large customers to remain sustainably profitable.
Just a month ago, the U.S. government invested at $20.47 per share, while Nvidia is buying in at $23.28. The pace of this story is astonishing—thanks to Trump’s efficiency.
Last week, there was news that $Oracle(ORCL)$ might invest in TikTok, and now Trump is handing Intel a big gift.
At present, Intel’s market cap is only $116B. Today’s pre-market surge also filled the prior gap-down, and the next step could be a run toward $40. But some argue that news from the Trump administration comes and goes—Intel jumps, then drops—so chasing at these highs could risk a pullback.
Questions
What do you think? Can Intel keep climbing?
Will Nvidia’s investment act like Buffett’s recent bet on $UnitedHealth(UNH)$, giving investors a “peace-of-mind” boost?
And are there other old-line U.S. companies that could be the next “lucky winner” chosen by Trump?

The Nvidia–Intel alliance is more than just capital; it’s synergy. Pairing Nvidia’s AI chips with Intel CPUs in data centers and PCs gives Intel a real edge and puts pressure on AMD $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ . If execution is solid, Intel could shift from lagging to revitalized.
Chasing a gap-up carries risk, but the support behind Intel looks strong enough to hold above $30. Nvidia’s investment may act like a Buffett effect, drawing in long-term investors. I see Intel entering a new chapter and I’m optimistic.

Trump is known for being eccentric and unpredictable. We won’t know who will be the lucky winner and we also won’t know who will he turn his back on. We also cannot rule out whether he will favour Tsmc next considering its ability to make superior chips.

I m glad I didn’t sell Intel late month as it is a CMI stock. It was after a discussion with a technical analyst from one broker firm (well, now we are friends. We meet for lunch or coffee) that I decided to sleep on it as its loss is covered by PLTR. I always like to deceive myself. [LOL][Happy][Smile][Chuckle]. It is ok to rob peter to pay paul. So immune with the losses. 😅😂🤭😇

Short Term: Yes it is a Bull run. Intel's investors are celebrating.
Medium Term: It is a strategic lifeline for Intel. This partnership gives Intel access to Nvidia's AI stack, GPU chiplets and credibility.
Long Term : Execution matters. Intel must deliver on Co developed chips, regain foundry trust and prove that it can be more than just a political pawn.
If you believe in Intel's AI pivot and manufacturing renaissance, then Intel is a great buy at the current price.
