🍩⚡📈 Krispy Kreme Rockets +12% After FBI Director’s “Good Investment” Comment ~ ON Semi Also Gets a Lift 🍩⚡📈

$ON Semiconductor(ON)$ $Opendoor Technologies Inc(OPEN)$

Strong capital flows don’t wait for earnings reports; they respond to credibility shocks. When FBI Director Kash Patel casually called Krispy Kreme ($DNUT) “a good investment” during testimony and disclosed buys in ON Semiconductor ($ON), the tape lit up. DNUT spiked nearly +12% intraday from $3.12 to $3.50 before cooling to $3.35, while ON reclaimed the $50 handle with momentum underneath.

🍩 Krispy Kreme Technicals

On the 4H chart, DNUT broke out of a tight Keltner/Bollinger squeeze.

• Resistance: $3.40–3.45 (55 EMA cluster), then $3.70–3.90 if momentum extends.

• Support: $3.15–3.20 (prior base). Lose it and the $2.90–3.00 shelf reopens.

I’m watching closely because low-float names with unexpected catalysts can run further than models suggest if liquidity pours in.

⚡ $ON Semiconductor Setup

ON’s move was steadier but no less important. Price reclaimed $50.25 with pressure building at the top of its descending channel.

• Resistance: $52, then $54–55 supply.

• Support: $48.50 with $46 as the firmer base.

I’m seeing ON’s credibility reset as the bigger institutional story. For a core AI + EV semi, Patel’s disclosure hands funds a narrative to rotate back into the name.

🌍 Strategic Take: Donut 🍩 Worry?

Patel’s ethics filing revealed up to $50,000 in Krispy Kreme and $100,000 in ON. He insisted there’s “no current conflict,” but the timing raises eyebrows: DNUT is facing shareholder lawsuits over a 2024 data breach tied to ransomware group Play, the same group the FBI is investigating. That’s an extraordinary juxtaposition: the Bureau probing a breach while its Director is a shareholder.

For traders, this creates two simultaneous forces:

• A credibility premium, where Patel’s words drive algos and retail into DNUT and ON.

• A risk discount, as data breach lawsuits and governance optics could weigh on DNUT longer term.

🤔 Here’s the real dilemma: if you had to hold just one for the next 30 days, do you ride Krispy Kreme’s sugar-fueled momentum or lean into ON Semi’s AI + EV backbone reset?

I’m intrigued by the ethics disclosure layer, it creates a unique mix of credibility premium and legal overhang that could fuel two-way volatility, similar to what we saw in PLTR when government ties amplified every headline.

When a figure like the FBI Director discloses personal buys and casually calls a stock a “good investment,” algorithms and traders react instantly because it creates a perception of insider confidence.

means the price action you’re seeing in both Krispy Kreme and ON Semiconductor wasn’t driven by earnings or fundamentals but by something far less common: a credibility shock.

⚡I’m leaning toward ON here because the $50 reclaim is the kind of technical shift that signals institutions are circling, the setup looks a lot like how MU reset before its next leg higher. DNUT good be a good play and there 🍩 are scrumptious 🤤

  • 🍩I’m struck by how DNUT’s low float magnified Patel’s comment into a double-digit move, it reminds me of how RUN spiked off that unexpected policy headline and kept running once volume confirmed.
