In 1988, at the invitation of Soros, Druckenmiller officially entered Quantum Fund Company. In 1992, Druckenmiller accurately predicted that the pound would fall against the German mark. At that time, he helped Soros \"snipe the pound\" and won a big victory against the Bank of England.

In 2010, Druckenmiller suddenly announced his retirement, ending his 30-year \"military career\" in the financial battlefield. Since then, he has rarely appeared and rarely publicly expressed his investment views.

And in this rare conversation with Goldman Sachs, he shared his latest views on macro investment, large asset classes and Bitcoin. Wall Street News excerpts some of the key contents of the interview:

01. \"Strange environment\"

Druckenmiller first introducedThe current investment environment, and used an adjective-\"strange\":

What we have experiencedThe recession is five times the average since World War II, but happens 25% of the time. What is even stranger is that 11 million people lost their jobs during the year, but thanks to massive policy support, ourPersonal income increases by the biggest in 20 years。 CARES ActAdded trillions of dollars in fiscal stimulus. How big is this?In the three months of 2020, weIncreased deficits exceed the last five recessions(1973, 1975, 1982, early 1990s, dotcom bubble burst and global financial crisis)Sum of。 The Fed has bought more Treasury Bond in 6 weeks than it has bought Treasury Bond in 10 years of Bernanke/Yellen's administration. Thanks to the Federal Reserve's monetary policy, corporate borrowing had already increased from $6 trillion to $10 trillion before the crisis, and almost always decreased in recessions, but this year corporate borrowing increased by $400 billion. By contrast, corporate borrowing fell by $500 billion during the global financial crisis. Putting U.S. policy in a global context is even more surprising, Druckenmiller notes:

Since 2018, US M2 has increased by 25% over nominal GDP, that is, liquidity has increased by 25%. In China, the ratio of M2 to nominal GDP is the same as it was three years ago. So China hasn't overdrawn anything from their future, we have a lot of liquidity input and frankly very little investment, mostly transfers and Fed stimulus. We did a terrible handling of the virus, and China and Asia as a whole basically defeated the virus.02. Short U.S. debt and U.S. dollar, and long commodities

In the interview, Pasquariello asked, if only one asset could be selected that would provide the best opportunity next year, what would Druckenmiller choose?

Druckenmiller says that's not how he plays the game. He believes that the most dominant investment theme right now is inflation relative to what policymakers think. But since policymakers' responses can vary depending on how well the vaccine works, it's best to have an investment matrix.

Druckenmiller revealed some of his holdings:

In response to reflation,Shorting Long-Term U.S. Debt。Has large positions in commodities。 Because the longer the Fed tries to keep interest rates down, the more winners it has in the commodities space.Short the US Dollar。 \"Very, very\" bearish on the dollar due to the contrast between US policy and Asian policy.03. Growth stocks face challenges, and large technology stocks can rise again

Pasquariello asked Druckenmiller what he thinks about stocks, especially tech stocks, including big tech stocks, cloud computing companies, and some small-cap growth stocks.

For growth stocks, Druckenmiller is more cautious. He believes that from the perspective of valuations and bond markets,Growth stocks will be in a very, very challenging environment over the next 5 years:

If there is 4-5% inflation in the US in a few years and bond yields rise sharply, growth stocks are historically very negative relative to other stocks. The comparison to 2000, on the other hand, is ridiculous. Absurd reason, at that time we had a double whammy, not only in the frenzy of high valuation, but also the end of earnings, because the rapid growth of those companies at that time was due to the Internet itself under construction, and with the completion of Internet construction, they couldn't continue to generate earnings.Druckenmiller remains optimistic about big tech stocks that have matured:

In the last 2-3 months, in the field of technology,AmazonAndMicrosoftHas been underperforming. But they're not overvalued, and I'm not worried about these stocks if the Fed continues to push the envelope in terms of friendliness, in fact, they may continue to rise.04. Asia has emerged from the epidemic and become a big winner

Druckenmiller is very bullish on Asian investment prospects, and holds assets in China, Japan and South Korea.

These regions are off to a good start this year, and Druckenmiller points out that while the United States is desperately overdrawing its future, Asia has emerged from the pandemic as a big winner:

In the field of science and technology, withIntelSurrender, Asia has the foundry and memory, inRobotThe field is also leading. I think Asia looks much better than the United States in the next 5 years because, in a way, the United States has to pay for productivity, higher wages, and a more devalued dollar.Asia will outperform the US in the long run, especially in the foreign exchange market. China's net investment just surpassed that of the United States this yearThis is just the beginning of a trend, not the end.05. I can't read Bitcoin, but I still bought it

For a comeback Bitcoin, Pasquariello naturally won't miss Druckenmiller's take on it.

When asked whether Bitcoin is the mother of all asset bubbles or something more real and lasting, Druckenmiller replied, perhaps both.

Druckenmiller expresses his confusion about Bitcoin:

Bitcoin has been around for 13 years, and young millennials, in particular, look at it the way I look at gold. But I doubt that Bitcoin will be a store of value, because if it is a currency, it has all kinds of problems, such as consuming a lot of energy, being volatile, etc. Druckenmiller frankly admitted that he didn't understand Bitcoin and didn't trust Bitcoin very much, but he did buy some, and since he bought it, it went up a lot.
","source":"highlight_wallstreetcn","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The Wildest Market in Forty Years! ,"news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2196,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":380755622,"gmtCreate":1612599583066,"gmtModify":1704873169051,"author":{"id":"3575549774871441","authorId":"3575549774871441","name":"RichWong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/aa59677b02974658b4d67103450b4e92","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575549774871441","authorIdStr":"3575549774871441"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Cool","listText":"Cool","text":"Cool","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/380755622","repostId":"2109770369","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1250,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":380593603,"gmtCreate":1612546764402,"gmtModify":1704872823831,"author":{"id":"3575549774871441","authorId":"3575549774871441","name":"RichWong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/aa59677b02974658b4d67103450b4e92","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575549774871441","authorIdStr":"3575549774871441"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"?<a
