$Applied Optoelectronics(AAOI)$ 4600 employees, and they've more than doubled their workforce in a couple of years. These guys are not playing around. I think the rocket is fueling up, just waiting for the countdown. Not a matter of if, but when.
$Applied Optoelectronics(AAOI)$ Electricity is a bottleneck for data centers, so the shift to AAOI optical makes sense. The savings from cooling equipment, electricity, and opportunity cost from GPUs running more efficiently comes out to 35% per month. With optical, a training cycle that took 90 days can be completed in 60 days. For inference, more tokens can be delivered much faster with less electricity, with savings of 40%. So a data center has effectively gained 35% on the same electrical capacity. The only issue for AAOI, but a good one, is they can't produce their products fast enough to meet demand and are sold out for 3 to 4 years.
$SK hynix(SKHY)$ Up 4.9% to $143.15 after its worst week since 2008, revenue up 145% YoY, and Nvidia just asked it to build next-gen HBM base dies on TSMC 3nm. Forward P/E 4.6, analysts see 76% upside to $252. Is the memory bottom in?
The recent selling in memory and storage names has been pretty aggressive, and it doesn't really line up with the underlying fundamentals, which still show huge growth and very high profit margins. Negative sentiment gave some people room to push the selling, but this doesn't look like a traditional memory cycle. Memory and storage are expected to stay in short supply possibly through 2030, and multiple memory/storage CEOs have already said the supply/demand imbalance will likely be worse in 2027. $SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$ $Micron Technology(MU)$ $SK hynix(SKHY)$ $Direxion Daily MSCI South Korea Bull 3x Shares(KO
$NEBIUS(NBIS)$ $IREN Ltd(IREN)$ $CoreWeave, Inc.(CRWV)$ I think some of the data centers will get bought up by the big AI players, and some will merge together and become stronger. This still feels like the early days of AI, kind of like the early days of the internet.
$Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bear 3x Shares(SOXS)$ There's some strength, but a lot of AI names are oversold. Chasing here feels dangerous. Back to 30 later this year and a full send to 120 next year seems very possible.
$Applied Optoelectronics(AAOI)$ 80I can see it reaching $400 by 2028-29. The AI trade just moves on. The best is yet to come. My average price is in place, and I'll add more if it panic drops to $60.
$Applied Optoelectronics(AAOI)$ The biggest gainers tend to take the biggest dips. AAOI is still up $51 year-to-date, and my large position in it is working out well. AMD and COHR are both up significantly for me as well. Some traders have clearly struggled in this market, and a few have taken heavy losses.
