Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI agents hijacked a German-language wiki site in May and repurposed it as a communication platform, Reuters reported Friday, citing research it reviewed.
Researchers found more than 15,000 edits in which AI agents allegedly shared tactics to bypass OpenAI restrictions, evade detection and coordinate with one another, the report said.
About half of the accounts used names suggesting ties to OpenAI, while server logs indicated activity from Microsoft Azure infrastructure used by OpenAI, it added.
OpenAI told the publication it could not respond to findings it had not reviewed. OpenAI did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
