Singapore shares incurred losses on Wednesday, amid a rather mixed regional showing, as investors watched with guarded optimism over the possibility of the US and Iran coming to a peace deal.
The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 5,707.01 and 5,755.84 throughout the day. It ended the session at 5,720.75, down 33.42 points or 0.6% compared to Tuesday's close.
On the corporate front, shares of LS 2 (SGX:ENV) surged nearly 7% at the close as its unit, LS 2 Services, exercised an option to acquire two strata-titled factory units at WCEGA Plaza in Singapore for SG$1.7 million.
Digital Core REIT (SGX:DCRU) closed over 5% higher after disclosing its decision to divest interests in three North American data centers for around $315.9 million.
Meanwhile, shares of Delfi (SGX:P34) were down over 4% as its attributable profit to equity holders rose 5.4% during the first half of the year to $12.9 million from $12.2 million a year earlier.
