Meituan's Food-Delivery Business Likely to Post Narrower Loss -- Market Talk

Dow Jones03-30

0343 GMT - Meituan's food-delivery business is likely to post narrower losses in the near term, but its recovery path might be bumpy, Nomura analysts say in a research note. The segment's operating loss is likely to narrow on quarter for 1Q. However, pressure lingers as Nomura analysts expect Alibaba's food-delivery subsidy budget to remain high. This will slow Meituan's food-delivery recovery pace, the analysts say. Nomura cuts its target price on Meituan to HK$92.00 from HK$107.00. Shares are last at HK$85.05. (tracy.qu@wsj.com)
