U.S. Energy Stocks Jump After Iran War Intensifies -- WSJ

Dow Jones03-02 23:11

By David Uberti

Fears that the war on Iran could upend global markets sent share prices climbing across U.S. oil majors, Texas frackers, Appalachian gas producers, Gulf Coast energy exporters and more.

-- Liquefied natural-gas exporter Venture Global recently jumped 18%, while Cheniere climbed 5%.

-- Exxon, Chevron and ConocoPhillips all rose.

-- Golar LNG, a tanker company, also advanced.

Stocks of some oil-tanker operators and oilfield service firms declined, a sign traders are cautious that expanding strikes between Iran and the U.S. and Israel could disrupt energy infrastructure across the Middle East.
