Stocks Close In on Records After Latest CPI Report -- WSJ

It appears that stocks aren't too worried about a little inflation. U.S. benchmarks have greeted the past three consumer-price index reports with strong gains, according to Dow Jones Market Data, despite the CPI showing inflation staying above the Federal Reserve's 2% target. In afternoon trading, the Dow industrials, S&P 500 and Nasdaq are all poised to close at new records, with the Russell 2000 index of smaller stocks knocking at the door of its Oct 15 closing high.
