Seagate Technology Expands Availability of Drives to Meet Data Storage Demand

MT Newswires Live07-15

Seagate Technology (STX) announced global availability of up to 30 terabytes of Exos M and IronWolf Pro hard drives to meet "surging" demand for AI-driven data center storage, according to a statement Tuesday.

The move is a "milestone" in enterprise infrastructure modernization amid increasing data sovereignty laws, the company said.

Data gravity is pulling networks to the edge as "nearly 150 countries adopt data sovereignty requirements, and AI workloads continue to expand," said Melyssa Banda, a senior vice president at Seagate. Currently, the world's data is stored in just 10 countries, she added.
