At the 2026 China Online Media Forum, Wang Xingxing, founder of Unitree Robotics, revealed that in the upcoming humanoid robot half marathon scheduled for next month in Beijing's Yizhuang district, robots from several companies are expected to achieve faster times than human runners. The half marathon results could potentially be completed in under one hour.
Wang Xingxing predicted that the "ChatGPT moment" for embodied artificial intelligence may arrive within two to three years. At that stage, robots will be capable of completing 80% of tasks through voice commands in 80% of unfamiliar scenarios. Some industry insiders are even more optimistic, suggesting this goal could be achieved within 18 months.
