US Stocks Close Higher, Palantir Soars Nearly 24%, AMD Rises Over 4%

Apple rose by 2.10% after Roth MKM upgraded AMC Entertainment to neutral from sell, citing a strong box office content cycle, which is expected to positively impact the stock price and investor sentiment.

NVIDIA fell by 1.71% due to DeepSeek's entry into the market, but it remains a buy thanks to its market leadership, unique ecosystem, and constant AI-driven technology demand. However, Morgan Stanley significantly lowered its 2025 shipment forecast for NVIDIA's GB200, leading to a sell-off.

Alphabet increased by 2.50% as China announced an antitrust probe into Google and imposed import taxes on US goods in response to President Trump's tariffs. This geopolitical tension has raised concerns about the future of US-China trade relations.

Amazon.com gained 1.95% after announcing a strategic partnership with Bouygues Group to accelerate digital transformation across Bouygues Group's operations using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Tesla Motors rose by 2.22% following Palantir Technologies Inc.'s better-than-expected financial results for the fourth quarter, which led to a rally in AI stocks.

Advanced Micro Devices surged by 4.58% as Rosenblatt maintained a buy rating with a price target of $250.00 per share, indicating a positive outlook. However, Morgan Stanley maintained an equal-weight rating and reduced the price target from $158.00 to $147.00 per share.

Palantir Technologies Inc. soared by 23.99% after reporting better-than-expected financial results for the fourth quarter and issuing strong guidance. Several analysts raised their price targets for Palantir, contributing to the overall market performance.

Spotify Technology S.A. jumped by 13.24% following Palantir's positive earnings report, which boosted investor sentiment towards AI stocks.

Marvell Technology dropped by 3.41% due to rising concerns over intensifying competition in the AI chip market, with tech giants like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft highlighting the increasing competition.

PayPal fell by 13.17% despite reporting Q4 revenue of $8.37 billion, beating analyst estimates with an EPS of $1.19. Total payment volumes increased by 7%, and active accounts grew by 2.1%.
