03 Key News

1. Google struck a large-scale power agreement with Constellation Energy to support data-center growth. The companies said Google contracted for 3,590 megawatts of power from Constellation in the largest U.S. power grid, with a meaningful share tied to nuclear generation. The deal is expected to enable more than $4.3 billion of new investment and expand output at several nuclear reactors in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.

2. AMD said it plans to substantially increase chip supply to meet artificial-intelligence demand. Chief Executive Lisa Su said the company has already lifted supply through 2026 and will substantially increase it in 2027. She said AMD is working with partners across Taiwan and South Korea to secure more advanced wafer capacity and memory supply.

3. Qualcomm confirmed a broad patent agreement with Huawei covering 5G, compute, AI, and networking. The company said the deal includes cross-licensing and the purchase of selected U.S. patents from Huawei. Qualcomm also pushed back on reports that it was the net payer or that the transaction involved logic-folding chip technology.

4. DeepSeek moved closer to a major funding round led by large strategic investors. Reports said the Chinese AI startup is nearing an 80 billion yuan investment round, with Contemporary Amperex Technology and Tencent among the biggest backers. The financing could eventually rise further if final terms change, reflecting continued appetite for frontier AI assets.

5. Moonshot AI completed a private financing round ahead of a possible Hong Kong listing. People familiar with the matter said the company reached an estimated valuation of about $50 billion in the latest round. The startup is also preparing for a Hong Kong IPO and has begun sounding out investor interest.

6. Huawei and Qualcomm expanded their commercial relationship despite ongoing U.S. tech restrictions. The agreement spans multiple technology areas, including 5G and artificial intelligence, and is expected to broaden licensing revenue for both sides. It also underscores that patent and IP deals continue even amid tighter scrutiny on cross-border tech flows.

7. Reflection AI launched a new open-weight model called Beam. The Nvidia-backed startup said the model is specialized for coding and agentic tasks and is designed to compete with larger open systems. The launch adds another U.S. entrant to a field that has been dominated by Chinese open-model developers.

8. McKesson and Clayton Dubilier & Rice were reported to be nearing a deal for Option Care Health. The proposed transaction would value the infusion-services provider at more than $5 billion including debt. The report drove a sharp premarket jump in the shares as investors assessed a potential takeout premium.

9. The U.S. Treasury market faced a heavy week of debt issuance. The Treasury Department is selling 3-year, 10-year, and 30-year securities in sequence, with investors closely watching demand. The focus reflects concern about fiscal supply, inflation, and the durability of higher yields.

10. Microsoft received a bullish analyst upgrade as the AI story broadened beyond pure model race themes. Melius Research raised its rating on Microsoft to buy and lifted its target price, arguing the company’s software and cybersecurity franchises should benefit as investors favor steadier AI exposure. The note also highlighted that Microsoft remains one of the clearer large-cap beneficiaries of enterprise AI spending.
