Trump Presses Iran to Reach a Deal, Vowing to Resume Military Action Otherwise

MT Newswires Live07-28 20:53

U.S. President Trump said Tuesday talks with Iran have been "going very well" but warned that if no agreement is reached he would order strikes on "Gaoshan" and on bridges and power plants. He said he would prefer to avoid attacking bridges and power plants if possible, described the situation as "very, very delicate," and said the U.S. position is very strong and Iran knows the consequences of failing to reach a deal.

Trump said the United States would strike Gaoshan if Iran does not reach an agreement, framing the action as conditional on a deal breakdown. He asserted Space Force surveillance gives the US a clear picture of the situation and said the issue could be resolved easily.

Trump said Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz; the United States controls it.

Trump said Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu wants the US to continue participating in the war against Iran.
