NVIDIA's Jensen Huang: Has Invested in Musk's xAI, Regrets Not Investing in OpenAI Earlier

On the evening of October 8th Beijing time, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang confirmed that NVIDIA has invested in Elon Musk's startup xAI.

Huang expressed his excitement about xAI's ongoing fundraising efforts and candidly stated his desire to participate in virtually every field that Musk ventures into.

Regarding another AI giant, OpenAI, he mentioned that NVIDIA's deal with OpenAI will help prepare the startup to become an "autonomous hosted hyperscale data center operator." However, he was unaware of OpenAI's deal with AMD before it was publicly announced.

Furthermore, Huang frankly admitted his regret for not investing in OpenAI earlier, while noting that OpenAI's revenue is experiencing exponential growth.

When asked how OpenAI would fund its deal with NVIDIA, he responded that OpenAI "currently has no money" and will subsequently raise funds through revenue as well as equity or debt financing methods.

    Jensen Huang will say anything as long as you "buy" his Nvidia chips as part of Nvidia's investment in your company. Wonderful AI circlejerk, what a joke this "business model" has become. And how exactly is xAI going to make revenue with all these 300k GPU's? Which depreciate faster than an EV? At least OpenAI has some (though not enough) revenue to show (but let's keep in mind that all these AI companies have $1 Billion revenue and spend $30 Billion right now).

      However, I understand how an AI assistant could really improve my productivity. I spend time searching for info and assimilating it. I waste time on admin. As my time is expensive it will have value to me.
