Premarket Movers|Microsoft Gained More Than 0.7% After Launching Its First Cybersecurity AI Model

Tiger Newspress16:32

Microsoft shares rose 0.7% in pre-market trading on Tuesday. On the news front, Microsoft introduced its first AI model built specifically for cybersecurity, called MAI-Cyber-1-Flash. It also launched Project Perception, a new security system that uses several AI agents to work together.

Microsoft says MAI-Cyber-1-Flash is designed to find hard-to-spot security weaknesses inside large amounts of software code.

The model has been added to MDASH, Microsoft’s security system that checks whether a possible weakness is real and whether a hacker could actually use it. CEO Satya Nadella said that the new setup can deliver strong results at about half the cost of Microsoft’s previous system. The way it works is that MAI-Cyber-1-Flash handles most of the easier and medium-level tasks, while more expensive AI models are saved for the hardest problems.
