The market has been a little wild lately. 📉 Navigating the Market Pullback: Why I’m Selling Puts and Buying the Dip on CIFR and COIN The recent market weakness has certainly tested investor patience. While pullbacks can feel uncomfortable, they also offer some of the best entry points for long-term investors who have been waiting on the sidelines for valuations to cool down. When evaluating whether to "buy the dip" or stay cautious, I follow a disciplined strategy rather than emotional instinct. With "flight to safety" capital rushing into big tech and blue-chip stocks boasting bulletproof cash flows, mid-term macro worries have introduced a fresh wave of uncertainty to Mr. Market—and as we know, the market hates uncertainty. Expect more volatility ahead! Here is how I am navigating the current market dynamics, deploying cash,

Investing 101: The Art of Buying the Dip - Why SReits Are the Ultimate Lobang Even When They Are Dropping

🌟🌟🌟Watching your Singapore Real Estate Investment Trusts (SReits) drop can feel like watching someone putting condensed milk into your pristine Kopi-O. It is painful, slightly tragic and makes you want to question your investment thesis. But let's pause and look at the bigger picture.  When prices drop, dividend yields go up.  Think of it as a nationwide warehouse sale on Singapore's prime real estate.  You are not just buying random numbers on a screen.  You are essentially buying a brick on ION Orchard, a pane of glass in a high tech data centre, or a square metre of a bustling heartland mall.  The tenants are still paying rent, Singaporeans are still shopping in aircon malls, and by law, these SReits must pay out at least 90% of their taxable income to you. Buying the Dip? Lessons from My TTD Wipeout, Before I Look at Tesla I'll be real: TTD cost me a lot more than a few kopi runs and chicken rice. Great company, great story, so I bought the dip, then bought the next one. Then earnings came and it dropped 30%+ in a single day. The business wasn't broken. I paid a "must be perfect" price for a company that only had to miss once. Lesson one: a great company is not the same as a great entry price. Now Tesla has just shown a Roadster that flies on cold-gas thrusters, jumping over cars and doing a barrel roll. Production is promised for 2028, flying on public roads isn't permitted, and Roadster dates have slipped since 2017. Here in Singapore, where a COE alone can cost more than a car overseas, nobody is flying anywhere soon. 😄 So I'm not buying
If I had $10,000 to invest during this market pullback, I would not go all in at once. My approach would be to keep most of the money diversified while taking advantage of lower prices gradually. I would put the core of the portfolio into a broad global ETF such as VWRA, which gives exposure to thousands of companies across developed and emerging markets. Rather than trying to guess where the bottom is, I would continue buying in stages. I would also keep some cash aside for a larger correction. A 5% drop may look attractive today, but markets can always fall another 10% or 20%. Having cash available means I do not have to choose between panic-selling existing investments and missing a better buying opportunity. For individual stocks, I would be much more selective. The recent volatility i

A Coffee Can Portfolio is a long-term, "buy-and-forget" investment strategy where you select a basket of high-quality stocks, put them away, and hold them untouched for at least 10 years to let compound growth work without emotional trading. Core Principles • Low Churn: Avoid buying and selling frequently to cut down on transaction costs, commissions, and capital gains taxes. • Extreme Patience: Keep the portfolio locked away for a minimum of 10 to 30 years, resisting the urge to react to short-term market noise. • Power of Asymmetry: Losers in the portfolio can only drop by a maximum of 100% (limiting downside to your init

This market is providing very good opportunities to buy quality companies. I have been buying Mapletree Industrial Trust and ComfortDelGro, both of which have dropped substantially and offer very good dividend returns. They are established companies in Singapore and I want a piece of the business to ride through this rough patch and rise with the company when the economy recovers! Diversification is key and commitment is needed.
bought qqqi, spyi and smh. Cos those prices of the stocks had reached by target to add on. i guess ive bought the dip for this time round. but will still continue to monitor the prices and market. Still keeping some cash in case theres further opportunity to scoop more stocks. Anyway, the market still shaky, hence do not go all in at once, separate the bullet in a few tranches to spread the risk and also diversification.

The current market creates a lot of jitters. So far I have been accumulating Singapore REITs such as CFA, CLR and MPACT. I also bought some 9CI to build a dividend income base. When the interest rate drops in a couple of years time, the yield would be attractive. For now, we have to hang on. We duno what will happen as no one could predict the market. We place every trade with a risk that we are comfortable with and wait for the next wave.

Have been accumulating singtel given their price recent weaknesses - get ready for the upcoming H2 results/dividends expected in November and also due to the expected successful debut trading of Mynt in Philippines next week.
The market is sort of like a falling knife and I reckon there may be more downside at least till the end of the week when reversal rebound is likely to occur after all weak hands have had their stock sold. Will start to accumulate Meta, Google and MSFT or VOO before reversal.

semiconductors stocks in the hopes to minimise losses through dollar cost averaging and with the view that the stocks are likely to rebound
look like semiconductors are attracting buying opportunity like AVGO, NVDA and TSMC and many more.
Opportunity to make some cold hard cash!  Market is undergoing lots of volatilities cos of AI bubbles and US manipulation of their economy for the upcoming 3rd November election.
I would like to buy yoma a Myanmar conglomerate, as it has been a while since it last show some promise. I hope the political situation will improve soon to give them a boost.
