Alibaba's AI Empire: Not Too Late To Join The Bulls

SummaryAlibaba's cloud and AI business shows strong long-term growth and profitability, with the AI segment growing triple digits for six consecutive quarters. The cloud business posted double-digit growth in 3Q25, and Alibaba continues to invest aggressively in this segment.Alibaba's prudent capital allocation strategy includes share repurchases, benefiting shareholders and reinforcing my Buy rating.I reiterate my Buy rating on Alibaba with a target price of $183, driven by its robust cloud and AI business growth.Btw, quick tip, I recently found an awesome trading tool, Tiger CBA! Dollar General Dip Is A Buy or Hold? Retail Struggle!

$Dollar General(DG)$ Earning Overview In 2024, Dollar General reported an EPS of $5.11. For 2025, management expects a minimum EPS of $5.10, though that’s on the lower end of projections. On the higher end, they anticipate earnings could reach up to $5.80. If the company hits the top end of its guidance, that would reflect nearly 14% year-over-year growth. Looking further ahead, Dollar General’s management is projecting annual EPS growth of at least 10% starting in 2026. While some of this growth will likely be driven by stock buybacks, there’s also significant potential to improve profit margins and boost EPS in that way. Under this long-term outlook, it’s possible for Dollar General’s EPS to double within the next five to seven years. This assumpt

How to hedge Trump risk? Try options to go long gold

Recently, Jonathan Guthrie, corporate editor of the Financial Times, wrote an article stating that,$SPDR Gold ETF (GLD) $Is the real "Trump put option". This view is not only symbolic, but also has profound market logic. In the current political and economic environment, gold is becoming an important tool for investors to hedge risks. So, how do we use options strategies to go long gold efficiently?Market uncertainty and gold's safe-haven attributes in the Trump eraInvestors generally believed that Trump's policy would cover the stock market when the market fell, forming a "Trump put option". However, the reality is that the S&P 500 has fallen 6% since November last year, and the market's confidence in Trump's support is weakening. Instead, the pr

Where will the yield of the 10-year US Treasury bond lead the market?

At the latest Federal Reserve meeting last week, policymakers unsurprisingly chose to maintain the status quo on interest rates. The relatively dovish tone of the communication improved market sentiment slightly, yet significant uncertainty remains over the future trajectory of monetary policy. Opinions are split: some believe that former President Trump's anti-globalization policies might lead to inflation or stagflation, preventing the Fed from cutting rates, while others anticipate that recession risks will compel the Fed to implement aggressive monetary easing to stabilize the economy. Examining bond market data can help determine which of these scenarios is more plausible.Recent Trends in 10-Year Treasury YieldsSince peaking at over 5% during the previous U.S. rate-hiking cycle, the 1

How to Find Alpha When the Market Has No Beta?

A friend told me yesterday that trading has been exhausting lately—U.S. stocks are going up one day, down the next, struggling to break higher. Meanwhile, China’s A-shares wiped out a month’s gains in just three days, leaving many traders feeling lost. That got me thinking:What if there’s no beta return this year? How do we find alpha?Understanding Alpha and Beta🔹 Alpha (α): If your stock rises 15% while the market gains 10%, or if the market drops 5% but your stock still gains 5%, that extra return is alpha. It comes from stock-picking skills, trading strategies, or investment decisions—independent of overall market trends.🔹 Beta (β): If your stock or fund moves in line with the broader market (e.g., $S&P 500(.SPX)$,

America’s Looming Economic Dilemma Trump’s Massive Tax Cuts Could Backfire

$S&P 500(.SPX)$ $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ The U.S. Faces a Growing Economic Challenge Alright, everyone—things are getting even stranger. Today’s discussion is both amusing and deeply serious, as it highlights a critical issue the U.S. is grappling with. The core challenge? Shifting financial responsibility from the government to the private sector. The Push to Reduce Government Spending To his credit, Benson acknowledges that national debt is spiraling out of control and is even willing to risk a U.S. recession to address it. He has emphasized the unprecedented levels of government spending outside of wartime or recession, pushing for a course correction: reducing government spending, deleveraging the public

Consumer Discretionary Stocks in 2025: Navigating the Tariff Tightrope

Are consumer discretionary stocks a high-stakes gamble in 2025? As of March 25, 2025, with the April 2 tariff deadline looming, this sector—home to retailers, automakers, and luxury brands—is at a crossroads. The XLY Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF is up a modest 4% year-to-date (YTD), trailing the S&P 500’s 3%, but beneath the surface, winners and losers are emerging fast. Will tariffs spark a sell-off or a surprise rally? Let’s dive into the data, unpack the trends, and map out how to play this tariff-fueled shakeup in a volatile market. The Market in 2025: Uncertainty Rules The S&P 500’s scraping by with a 3% YTD gain as of March 25, per real-time trends, with utilities climbing and tech fading (Nasdaq down 2% this week). The Fed’s March 20 rate hold at 5.25%-5.5%

Funny thing at the moment is the market is obsessed with macros, trump and musk. Rightfully so, but they are sooo obsessed that they seem to be ignoring very positive news from smaller caps like $Venture Global, Inc.(VG)$, $Redwire Corp.(RDW)$ and $Archer Aviation Inc.(ACHR)$ To name a few. All have dropped significantly in price but are all announcing significant positive growth initiatives that will impact profits positively going forward.  I've always made my best investment decisions following the unfollowed. Often it takes months for the market to react. But eventually they do when quarterly reports come in and the market is totally surprised. It's amusing
