🏢 Why am I looking at Keppel now?
Keppel is an interesting Singapore-listed company because it has been transforming its business beyond its traditional roots in offshore and marine activities. Today, its businesses include infrastructure, real estate management and connectivity, including data centres. These sectors may benefit from long-term trends such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence, rising electricity demand and infrastructure investment.
📈 Why am I making this trade now?
My screenshot shows an unrealised profit-and-loss ratio of +19.09% on this position. For me, seeing a position move into profitable territory is encouraging, but I must remember that unrealised profits are not guaranteed returns until I sell. I want to understand what is driving Keppel’s share price and whether the current valuation still offers an attractive risk-reward opportunity.
🔍 What am I watching?
I will monitor Keppel’s earnings, dividend sustainability, debt levels, cash flow and management’s execution of its transformation strategy. I also want to observe market sentiment and whether the share price can maintain its upward momentum. A good company can still experience a correction if expectations become too optimistic or interest rates remain elevated.
🛡️ What’s my plan from here?
I will avoid buying more simply because my existing position is profitable. Instead, I will review the fundamentals, valuation and technical support levels before deciding whether to add, hold or reduce my position. If the investment thesis weakens, I must be prepared to reassess rather than hold blindly.
🐶 My Options Puppy lesson: Winning trades are exciting, but disciplined risk management matters more than chasing profits. My goal is to build wealth steadily, collect sustainable returns and make decisions based on evidence rather than emotions.
