$Applied Optoelectronics(AAOI)$ I find it interesting how much negativity and hostility there is toward share issuance, often without much regard for why it's happening. There are good reasons for it, like expansion, growth, and meeting strong demand for a company's products, and there are red flags, like just keeping the lights on. AAOI issued shares for the first reason. Equity issuance and debt are really the only two ways to get the funding needed for growth and future profits. Every successful company in the market got there the same way. Nobody is giving money away. Listening to the investing community, you'd think they hate both forms of raising capital and just enjoy piling on companies that are trying to grow. AAOI has laid out a clear roadmap and strategy for success. Time to move past the fixation with equity offerings that fund the growth that will eventually bring the profits.
