$SOFI Bears Are Missing the Numbers, Not the Narrative
The $SoFi Technologies Inc.(SOFI)$ bear case is getting increasingly focused on the stock price, while the underlying numbers tell a different story. 👀
Here are four arguments worth separating from the noise:
1️⃣ Dilution
The market reaction makes it look like SoFi massively expanded its share count.
But the increase was closer to 10% last year, not anything remotely like 50%. And management has said it doesn't plan additional equity issuance through at least 2029.
2️⃣ “EPS doesn't justify the valuation”
That argument gets harder to make when earnings are growing this quickly.
SoFi's EPS increased 67% YoY in H1 2026. That's more than simply a top-line growth story. 📈
3️⃣ “Member growth doesn't matter because the stock is down”
Stock performance and operating performance aren't the same thing.
A falling share price doesn't automatically erase growth in the underlying business. Member growth still matters because it is one of the core operating metrics investors use to track the platform.
4️⃣ The personal attacks
Some of the bear commentary has moved well beyond financial analysis and into crude personal attacks about SoFi's user base.
That's not an investment thesis.
Markets can certainly disagree with SoFi's valuation, growth assumptions or future execution. Those are legitimate questions.
But once the discussion moves away from the numbers and into emotional arguments, it's worth stepping back and looking at the actual financials again. 📊
