Will China A-shares see big moves as we near Trump-Xi Summit? New ChinaA50 warrants now available!

• The iShares FTSE China A50 ETF (2823 HK) is a Hong Kong-listed ETF that aims to track the FTSE China A50 Index — a benchmark of the 50 largest companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges

• Top 10 stocks on the ETF include Kweichow Moutai, CATL, Zhongji Innolight and China Merchants Bank

• The ChinaA50 ETF traded to a one year high of HKD 18.16 on 3 Jun as it rebounded off its one year low of HKD 15.48 on 9 Mar

• Despite Chinese listed companies reporting their best profit growth in five years - CSI 300 constituents posted +25.7% earnings growth in 2Q26, this has not translated into a sustained market rally given the weak economic backdrop and uncertainty over AI capital returns (Bloomberg)

• A possible share price catalyst may come from the upcoming Trump-Xi Summit in late Sep

• AmCham Shanghai's annual survey of which the results were published on 10 Sep showed that 58% of US firms in China are optimistic about the five-year outlook - up 17% from 2025, reflecting easing bilateral tensions (Bloomberg)

• Investors keen to trade the short-term moves in the ChinaA50 may do so via this morning's newly listed call and/or put warrants

• Call warrant RIIW (https://www.warrants.com.sg/tools/livematrix/RIIW) costs SGD 0.028 while the ChinaA50 trades at HKD 16.38

• Put warrant WFVW  (Singapore Warrants|Trading Stocks and Index Warrants) costs SGD 0.035 as of 9.46AM

• For a 1% move in the ChinaA50 ETF, the call warrant RIIW will move approximately 7.5% while put warrant WFVW will move approximately 5.2%, based on their effective gearing levels as of 9.46AM
