[Stock Prediction] Can Broadcom Break $400 After Earnings?

The bigger story is custom AI chips.
OpenAI has been working with Broadcom on a custom inference chip called Jalapeño. Early tests reportedly showed better power efficiency and faster response times than Nvidia’s GB300.
That does not mean Broadcom is about to replace Nvidia.It is still early. The chip is focused on inference, has not been tested against Rubin, and large-scale production is not expected until late next year.
But the trend matters: More AI companies want chips built around their own models and costs — and Broadcom could be one of the biggest winners.
What to expect？
1. AI revenue growth
Nvidia’s latest results showed that AI infrastructure spending remains strong.If Broadcom also raises its AI outlook, it would be another sign that the boom is spreading beyond GPUs into networking and custom silicon.
2. Custom chips: hype or real revenue?
OpenAI and Google are big names, but many custom-chip projects are still in the early stages.Investors will want more detail on when these programs can scale and how much revenue they could eventually generate.
3. Is a strong quarter already priced in?
Expectations are high, and Broadcom has a history of making big moves after earnings.That means a simple beat may not be enough. If guidance falls short of the market’s hopes, the stock could still sell off even on solid results.

The custom AI chip opportunity is what excites me most. I don’t expect Broadcom to replace NVDA anytime soon, but more AI companies building chips tailored to their own workloads could become a major growth driver for Broadcom. If management provides clearer visibility on OpenAI and other custom-chip programs, I think the market could reward AVGO with another leg higher. At the same time, I’ll be cautious if guidance fails to match the market’s already-high expectations.
That said, expectations are already high, so a simple earnings beat may not be enough. I’ll be watching the AI outlook and custom-chip revenue potential closely. My vote: bullish, $350–$400.
