John Ternus has the tech know how & skill but steering $Apple(AAPL)$ requires managerial skills par excellence.
Compared to $Microsoft(MSFT)$ & $Alphabet(GOOG)$ , Apple's Capex of USD 14 billion is rather small. In fact Apple is paying Google an estimated USD 1 billion a year to license Gemini for Siri.
Apple relies mostly on on-device processing & clever software integration. Wall Street likes this capital discipline, briefly pushing Apple back to be the world's most valuable company.
Apple does not need to outspend competition to win. It just needs to make sure that when users want to talk to their AI, they can do it well.
John Ternus has a huge task ahead and time will tell whether he can equal or be better than Tim Cook.
