Kling AI, Kuaishou Technology’s AI video unit, has raised $3 billion to expand its video-generation business.
The funding round could grow to about $3 billion if more investors join.
Kling creates videos from text prompts and was valued at roughly $15 billion before the deal.
The current valuation is below its earlier US$20 billion target.
Kling’s revenue run rate reached US$500 million in March, and it has surpassed 100 million users.
The investment will help the Chinese company scale its technology and expand overseas as AI video platforms compete for global users.
