I’ve made an additional investment in TSM (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited) due to emerging supply chain risks highlighted by Morgan Stanley. The potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz could significantly disrupt global semiconductor flows, and TSM, producing 90% of advanced AI chips, stands at the center of this impact. Taiwan’s reliance on imported LNG for power, combined with TSM consuming nearly 10% of the national grid, amplifies production risks. Any power volatility could ripple through the global supply of advanced chips for AI, smartphones, and other critical devices, making TSM a strategic investment in the current environment.
