Battery swapping in and of itself is not the ultimate goal. It is to be integrated into full autonomous driving.
The interiors of $NIO Inc.(NIO)$ cars are repeatedly viewed and reviewed as "living spaces." All of $NIO Inc.(NIO)$ , including its swap infrastructure, is part of this mobile "living space."
I do not want to be interrupted with what I am doing inside my mobile "living space" to hook and unhook a cable, twice.
That is barbaric.
