New Alibaba, Meituan call warrants to trade stock moves ahead of results

🆕Macquarie has listed new call warrants over BYD, Kuaishou, Meituan, PopMart and Xiaomi this morning. Amongst the stock underlyings, Meituan is the only remaining company that has yet to report their third quarter earnings. Meituan will report this Friday

✳Last week, we listed a new call warrant $Alibaba MB eCW260505(WLWW.SI)$ (https://warrants.com.sg/tools/livematrix/WLWW) tracking $BABA-W(09988)$ , which will report its results today

🔥Alibaba: its US ADR shares rose 4.7% last night. Analysts are expecting a 3Q revenue of 245.2 billion yuan driven by an acceleration in cloud revenue growth

🤖Its overnight surge matched Alibaba's 4.7% rebound to HKD 154.50 in Hong Kong yesterday, as the company said that its Qwen app had become "one of the fastest-growing AI applications to date," notching more than 10 million downloads within the first week of its public beta launch. Qwen is now in the top three of Apple's App Store in China

🏅Alibaba stock is up 88% so far this year and 2025 has seen the shares trade at their highest levels since early 2021

🔻 $MEITUAN-W(03690)$ : trading at its lowest level since April 2024 and below the HKD 100 level, Meituan currently sits as the 10th worst performing index stock on the Hang Seng Index with a year to date loss of -35.3%

⚖The stock is weighed down by negative sentiment about the intensifying competition in the food delivery sector with Alibaba and JD, following Meituan's warnings of a major loss in August about its 3Q earnings

🏋‍♀️Meituan's challenge this week is for its to demonstrate that it can maintain China commerce margins through 2026 even as competition stays intense and provide reassurance that spending hikes on perks will ease after eight months of hefty outlays without eroding market share

📊Analysts polled by Bloomberg gave 42 buys, 13 holds and 4 sells on the stock, with a 12-month target price of HKD 123.86
