#MyOptionInvestmentJourney
Hi everyone! I am back again this week (Nov 17) with an update on my option investing journey.
For new reader, may refer to my recap section on the context.
Now for my update...
💰 Progress So Far:
I have 2,050 USD is my account as of 01-Oct-2025.
I can sell 2 units of Protected Put option, so I am going to sell 1 unit every alternate week.
This week, I have sold a Protected Put option that expired next week (20251128).
I have collected another 2.25 USD in premium this week — bringing my total Net Income since 12th August 2025 to 44.00 USD, which is approximately 2.15% p.a. to date on my capital (currently 2,050 USD).
This means I have 2 Options that expired in two different weeks.
a. 20251121, and
b. 20251128.
Thanks for following along — I will post updates weekly.
Lets see how far this small start can go. 🚀
Good luck to all of us! 🍀
🔁 Recap:
I am exploring a practical way for everyday people (like me!) to make the most of their spare savings — and hopefully, this inspires or helps someone out there too.
[My Profile]
I started with 1,400 SGD / 1,050 USD in spare savings — just sitting in the bank earning minimal interest. Instead of letting it idle, I am testing if I can generate better returns through options investing.
I officially began this journey on August 12, 2025, and chose to invest in an ETF related to Tesla (TSLL) — primarily because of its exposure to Tesla and its dividend yield.
💼 What I've Done:
A. I have set aside about 2050 USD in my Tiger account as of 01-OCT-2025 incase I need to purchase 200 shares of TSLL from the Options.
B. I am selling Protective Put options with the duration of 2 weeks.
C. However, for this week, as TSLL price had dropped to around 16 USD, and I am able to get Buyer for Protect PUT at 11.00 USD.
So, I am selling a Protect PUT at 11.00 USD that will expire on 28-NOV-2025.
D. My Risk is that I may need to purchase TSLL at 11.00 USD per lot.
E. I check in once a week — super manageable, about 10 minutes weekly.
F. I plan to repeat this weekly until I eventually accumulate 100 shares of TSLL. Then I will make a slight change in the plan.
