$HOOD has had a very rough week. Last Monday at market open the site and app couldn't handle the traffic and went down.
There was another issue midweek with buying power breakdown being unable to load.
Then to top it off, a ton of orders failed on Friday during the Trump selloff.
The Monday and Friday issues were not limited to HOOD, but they get the bulk of the criticism. They are the most visible retail broker, they are highly successful, and those two things will always mean they draw extra scrutiny.
But the great thing about HOOD is that you can be completely confident they search for the root cause of the problem, figure out from first principles how to solve it if it's under their control, and implement those changes. The platform and product will get better as a result of these setbacks.
