So, in my humble opinion, I think you would be crazy to sell $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ and also $NVIDIA(NVDA)$. I hold both in my portfolio. I am predominantly not a buyer and seller of stocks. I find something awesome and just keep accumulating it over time on dips. Sometimes my initial analysis proves lacking, or I discover something that reduces my conviction, then I will sell. In one case I did sell some of something that was incredible. That was $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$, my cost basis is $4.60. And I sold down at around $46. of course today it closed around $58. But for me personally it had gone from 10% of my portfolio to over 60%. I just thought that was a sensible move.
So this post is glitching a bit, hopefully the pic below comes through when I hit send. The pick shows my return since I joined tiger in march 2024. Since then I have an average return of just over 2000%. That is not a typo. I am also quite successful, being at the top as an investor in tiger, my ranking is 100%. So I guess that means I do better than everyone.
Not trying to blow my own trumpet here. Just trying to show that what I do works. So what do I do?
I spend a lot, and I mean a lot of time researching stocks. The one I just opened a position in took me 3 days. I start with a small position, and build that position every week. Obviously I scrutinize there past performance. Financial data is important, but it's actually a small part of the picture. Management is way more critical to me. I look at their past performance and knowledge of the business they are running.
But backward looking analysis is flawed. I use forward analysis. With AMD that's easy, AI needs massive infrastructure. Not only chips though, AMD is just one of the players that will win. Data centers will also go nuts, yes just started a position in $IREN Ltd(IREN)$. It's bloody expensive, but expensive is relative. And then there is power, luckily Iren has that sorted. I think I will do a whole article about Iren because there is a lot to discuss.
But back to the point. I have done well by taking my time, researching literally hundreds of companies, discounting the majority. Picking a few, and starting a position in them. Most take way longer to fire than I expect. Some have already fired, and I'm late. I know I was late on palantir, got in at $65. Poor me right. Could have got it for $25, but I just didn't get them. Now I do. And all the learning there has made it way easier with newer AI plays.
So to conclude, to be a winner in the stock market, well it requires hard work. Filtering nonsense is massive btw. risk is averted with knowledge. AMD is a no brainer to me, but it And Nvidia only make up like 2% or less of my portfolio each, why? oh boy that I could spend days on. But let's just say they are the primary producers, ya they do well and will do exceptionally well, but they are the first step in the value chain.
after all, a lemon well it's good, but its value is not truly realized until it becomes lemonade
Happy investing my fellow tigers :-)

But they have to think, and work. Everyone works hard for there money, but they don’t get a simple concept. You also need to set up your money so it works just as hard for uLikeReport
