As an investor, I'm intrigued by Alibaba's $Alibaba(BABA)$   $Alibaba(09988)$  recent surge following Citi's decision to hike its price target to $217, especially with the optimistic forecast about a tenfold increase in data center capacity. The bank's raised assumptions for cloud revenue and capital expenditures reinforce my belief in Alibaba's potential, particularly in the cloud computing sector. I've been keeping an eye on this stock for a while, and this news makes me feel more confident about its long-term growth prospects.

When it comes to the first question—will I follow Cathie Wood's trade?—I'm a bit hesitant. While I respect her bold investment strategies, my approach tends to lean more toward fundamentals and long-term trends rather than following specific traders. Citi's Buy rating and the strong traffic at the Yunqi Conference give me enough reason to consider holding or even adding to my position, but I'd rather base my decision on Alibaba's own performance metrics than mimic someone else's move.

The second question asks if I would keep holding Alibaba, and I'd say yes, at least for now. The updated price targets from $187 to $217 for ADRs and HK$183 to HK$215 for Hong Kong shares suggest there's still upside potential. I'm particularly encouraged by the focus on cloud revenue, which aligns with the growing demand for AI and data services. My strategy has always been to hold onto solid companies during growth phases, and Alibaba's current trajectory fits that mold, though I'll continue monitoring its progress.

As for whether Alibaba is worth more than $200, I think it's plausible given the recent analyst upgrades and the company's expansion plans. The tenfold increase in data center capacity could drive significant revenue growth, potentially pushing its valuation higher. While I don't have a crystal ball, my optimism about its cloud business leads me to believe it could surpass that mark in the near future, especially if the market continues to favor tech and infrastructure stocks.

Overall, I'm leaning toward maintaining my stake in Alibaba. The combination of Citi's bullish outlook and the company's strategic moves in cloud computing makes it an exciting hold for me.

As a retail investor, I focus mainly on the US and Singapore markets, combining a mix of technical trading and long-term investing strategies. I enjoy analyzing charts, spotting patterns, and making calculated moves based on both market sentiment and fundamentals. While I'm not a professional, I treat my portfolio seriously and continue to learn and grow with each trade.
