How to Trade Bilibili’s Cup-Handle Pattern
Bilibili $BILIBILI-W(09626)$ surged ~7.6% today in Hong Kong trading session.
Technical Setup: Cup & Handle & Profit Target
-
The stock has formed a classic cup and handle pattern: a rounded base (cup) followed by a smaller consolidation (handle).
-
A breakout from the handle is underway, currently pushing toward resistance near HK$201 (previous highs).
-
Measured target: Calculate by adding the cup depth to the breakout point:
Cup bottom ≈ HK$132
-
Breakout level ≈ HK$203
-
Target ≈ 203 + (203 – 132) = HK$274 (a potential upside zone if breakout sustains).
Using DLCs for Short-Term Trading (Neutral, Compliance-Friendly)
-
Long DLCs: Long DLCs (e.g. $Bilibili 5xLongSG270216(ODJW.SI)$ ) are structured to rise in value if the underlying stock continues upward. Traders watching Bilibili may monitor whether the breakout around HK$201 holds, but should note that any reversal below this level could reduce the effectiveness of such instruments.
-
Short DLCs: Short DLCs ( $Bilibili 5xShortSG270127(9JPW.SI)$ ) are designed to benefit if the underlying stock moves lower. They may be considered as a hedge if the price fails to sustain above the breakout level.
-
Important note: DLCs are leveraged instruments meant for short-term trading. They carry daily compounding effects, and the entire capital invested can be lost. Investors should be aware of bid-ask spreads, volatility, and ensure any position sizing is aligned with their own risk tolerance.
