$Intel(INTC)$ is at a critical turning point. Beyond SoftBank’s $2 billion infusion, they’re seeking more equity at a discount, which shows how much capital they need. The Trump administration even weighing a direct stake highlights Intel’s strategic value, but also how far behind they are in the AI and advanced chip race.

The market isn’t forgiving—shares fell nearly 7% yesterday, wiping out earlier gains. Investors worry about dilution and doubt whether new funds will drive real progress in Intel’s foundry push. Leadership changes with Lip-Bu Tan offer promise, but political noise around him adds uncertainty.

To me, Intel is high-risk, high-reward. If they secure capital, win foundry customers, and lean on U.S. support, the upside could be big. But until execution improves and AI positioning is clearer, I’d rather watch closely than chase.
