$iShares Gold Trust(IAU)$ is the 2nd largest Gold ETF and is on the upward trend as Gold has gained 14% this year to break the USD 3,000 per ounce for the first time. This can be attributed to geopolitical tensions and President Donald Trump's trade tariffs.
Gold has long been regarded as a safe haven asset since ancient times. Gold has gained about 6% in March and was last trading at USD 3,024.80 per ounce.
I bought $iShares Gold Trust(IAU)$
The expense ratio of IAU is 0.25% which is better than GLD's expense ratio of 0.40%.
Both GLD and IAU hold gold bullions in their vaults. I like IAU as I do not need to worry about the security of keeping physical gold. Best of all, being an ETF, it is so easy to buy and sell at a click of a button. Nice and simple - That's how I like to invest.
