They are stimulatory measures. They basically ‘force’ Singaporeans to spend instead of cash which may be just sitting in the bank accounts. I personally prefer cash but vouchers would be better for the economy. Spending at the hawker centres using the CDC vouchers instead of eating at more expensive options like restaurants would be helpful to cut cost. Minimising waste like not wasting water, electricity and food would be helpful too. Very important to spend within one’s own means.
