Market Overview

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite rose on Monday(Jan 6) to more than one-week highs, boosted by a rally in semiconductor stocks and a report that suggested the incoming Trump administration could adopt a less aggressive tariff stance than expected.

Regarding the options market, a total volume of 53,967,827 contracts was traded, up 6.5% from the previous trading day.

$FuboTV(FUBO)$ stock skyrocketed 251% on Monday after the company and Walt Disney agreed to merge their live TV offerings in a deal that could shake up the sports streaming landscape.

Micron shares jumped 10.5% on Monday to close at $99.26. In just three trading sessions this year, the stock has gained 18%, handily outpacing the $iShares(EEMA)$ Semiconductor ETF’s (SOXX) 6% return over the same period. The move Monday came after contract electronics manufacturer Foxconn posted record fourth-quarter revenue driven by booming demand for AI servers, while Microsoft (MSFT) recently announced plans to invest $80 billion in data centers in fiscal 2025 to power AI technology. 

$Micron Technology(MU)$ Stock jumps 4% on Tuesday’s premarket trading. $Nvidia Corp.(NVDA)$ Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang introduced the company's newest AI-infused GeForce GPU, the GeForce RTX 50 series, which is part of the RTX Blackwell family. The GPU includes 92B transistors, 4,000 TOPs, 4 petaflops of AI, 380 ray tracing teraflops, 125 shader, and 1.8TB memory from $Micron(MU)$, Huang said.
