These tickers trade over the counter, and represent the American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) of the Russian companies. However, while these stocks may be trending on message boards and on Yahoo Finance, investors cannot actually trade them. Despite the Russian stock market reopening, these over-the-counter tickers are still under trading halts. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)halted trading in these tickers on March 3.Investors should note that the actual reopening of the Russian stock market also comes with caveats. It has reopened with a ban on short selling as well as limits that keep foreign investors from selling their shares. What Happened With Russian StocksThe Moscow Stock Exchange resumed trading in 33 Russian equities today, and the MOEX Russia Index finished trading up 4.37%. Moscow-listed shares of Lukoil jumped 12% in its first day of trading since late February.Investors should note that the Moscow Stock Exchange has been closed since Feb. 25. Its shares started to plunge after its invasion of Ukraine and resulting sanctions. The country has already reopened its bond market and kicked off stock trading again today. Why It MattersThe reopening of the Russian market is being watched closely. Why? Investors see it as a test of how Russian financial markets, and, more broadly, the Russian economy will perform in the wake of economic sanctions. In an official statement, the White House described the reopening as a “charade.” The statement further said:“This is not a real marketand not a sustainable model—which only underscores Russia’s isolation from the global financial system. The United States and our allies and partners will continue taking action to further isolate Russia from the international economic order as long it continues its brutal war against Ukraine.”What’s NextRussian stocks are again trading in Moscow. However, the market is being tightly controlled by Russian regulators and there are strict controls being placed on foreign investors. For individual U.S. investors, ongoing trading halts also limit opportunities for direct action.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"LUKOY":0.9,"OGZPY":0.9,"SBRCY":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2714,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9037129647,"gmtCreate":1648052562998,"gmtModify":1676534298076,"author":{"id":"3581637009556119","authorId":"3581637009556119","name":"XiaoTigger","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581637009556119","idStr":"3581637009556119"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9037129647","repostId":"1164385250","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1164385250","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1648047397,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1164385250?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-23 22:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Fed’s Mester Says Some 50 Basis Point Rate Hikes Needed in 2022","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1164385250","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Loretta Mester says she supports front-loading interest ","content":"
\n
Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Loretta Mester says she supports front-loading interest rate increases, including some 50 basis-point moves this year, to curb the hottest inflation in four...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Some of the most popular (and most promising) growth stocks seem to rise and fall by 5% or more every day, and many are 40%, 50%, or more off their highs. To be sure, some of the beaten-down growth stocks are lower for a reason. But with others, the recent downturn can be a great opportunity to search for long-term bargains. With that in mind, here are two stocks that look especially appealing at the current prices. An e-commerce leader with massive potentialSince reaching a share price of more than $300 in November, handmade and unique item marketplace Etsy has seen its share price cut in half, despite posting strong results throughout its business.Over the past couple of years, the number of active buyers and sellers on Etsy's platform have both more than doubled, and the number of frequent buyers has more than tripled. And while some of the growth was certainly helped by the COVID-19 pandemic, the numbers continue to trend in the right direction. For example, Etsy's fourth-quarter merchandise volume was an all-time record for the company, and the average active buyer spent 16% more than in the fourth quarter of 2020.Etsy has done a great job of adding value to its namesake platform with things like advanced advertising options and free shipping availability. It has also made several strategic acquisitions that should broaden its user base even further and grow its addressable market opportunity. And finally, speaking of Etsy's addressable market, the company has an estimated $466 billion total addressable market opportunity from online retail sales in its seven core markets around the world, and it has captured less than 3% of that so far.A profitable social media company with many ways to growWith shares more than 70% below their 52-week high, Pinterest is looking like an absolute steal right now.To be sure, there are some valid reasons for Pinterest's pullback. Specifically, user growth (or lack thereof) is a legitimate concern right now. In the fourth quarter of 2021, Pinterest's active user base actually declined by 6% year over year. In simple terms, with fewer COVID-19 restrictions, people have less time to browse ideas online than they did a year ago. However, the slump in user growth should be temporary, and the company is doing a fantastic job of monetizing its user base. Pinterest's average revenue per user grew by 23% over the past year, and in the international user base (where 80% of users are), the increase was a staggering 62%. Pinterest's revenue per user is still a small fraction of other leading social media platforms, and there's still a big gap between international and domestic monetization, so the company could multiply its revenue several times over even without user growth.Be prepared for a wild ride, at least for nowIt's important to emphasize that I have absolutely no idea what these stocks will do over the next couple of months, or even for the rest of the year. There are simply too many variables, such as inflation, interest rates, and the Ukraine situation, that could put pressure on these and other stocks in the near term. But I'm confident that these are two great businesses that could generate strong returns for investors who measure their returns in five-year periods or more, so if you invest, do so with that in mind.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"ETSY":0.9,"PINS":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2760,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9034310617,"gmtCreate":1647792997258,"gmtModify":1676534266152,"author":{"id":"3581637009556119","authorId":"3581637009556119","name":"XiaoTigger","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581637009556119","idStr":"3581637009556119"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9034310617","repostId":"1121413470","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1121413470","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1647745257,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1121413470?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-20 11:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Can XPeng Stock Go Back Up To $50 Levels?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1121413470","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"SummaryXPeng's share price went above the $50 mark in late-November 2021 after it released better-th","content":"

Summary

XPeng's share price went above the $50 mark in late-November 2021 after it released better-than-expected Q3 2021 results and Q4 2021 guidance.

But XPEV's shares have halved year-to-date in 2022, given the valuation de-rating for growth stocks, concerns regarding potential revenue misses for 2022, and delisting fears.

I rate XPeng as a Hold; I think the company's shares won't go back up to $50 levels in the short term.

Robert Way/iStock Editorial via Getty Images

Elevator Pitch

I have a Hold investment rating for XPeng Inc. (NYSE:XPEV) [9868:HK]. My Neutral view on the stock is based on the premise that the company's shares aren't likely to rebound significantly (let alone return to $50 levels) in the near term. The negative headwinds hurting XPEV's shares such as investor style shift, supply chain disruptions for the Chinese automotive industry and concerns over the potential delisting of US-listed companies are likely to persist for a while. With its valuations reflecting most of the negatives after the sell-down in recent months, a Hold rating for XPeng is appropriate.

XPEV Stock Key Metrics

XPEV describes itself as "a leading Chinese smart electric vehicle company that designs, develops, manufactures, and markets Smart EVs" which targets "technology-savvy middle-class consumers" in its press releases. XPeng will report its Q4 2021 financial results on March 28, 2022, so I will review the company's most recent Q3 2021 financial metrics to see how the company has performed.

XPeng issued its Q3 2021 financial results media release on November 23, 2021 before the market opened, and this was well received by the market with XPEV's shares rising by +8% from $47.39 of November 22, 2021 to cross the $50 mark and close at $51.30 as of November 23, 2021. In the next week, XPeng's stock price gained further to reach a 52-week high of $56.45 on December 1, 2021, during intra-day trading.

The company's revenue expanded by +187% YoYin Q3 2021, and this was +9% better than what the market had anticipated. XPEV's vehicle deliveries almost tripled YoY from 8,578 units in Q3 2020 to 25,666 units in Q3 2021, and this exceeded the higher end of the company's earlier vehicle deliveries guidance of 23,000-25,000 units. Looking forward, XPeng expects to achieve vehicle deliveries of 35,500 units (mid-point of guidance) in the fourth quarter of 2021, which would be equivalent to a +174% YoY increase. XPEV also guided that its revenue should jump by +156% YoY to RMB7.3 billion (mid-point of guidance) in Q4 2021, which was +26% higher than the sell-side's consensus fourth-quarter top line estimate at the time of the Q3 earnings release.

But the good times did not last, as I highlight in the subsequent section.

Why Has XPeng Stock Dropped?

XPeng's stock price has fallen roughly by half since the start of the year. XPEV's shares fell from $50.27 as of January 3, 2022 (first trading day of the year) to $24.97 as of March 17, 2022.

In my opinion, there are three factors that have led to the severe decline in XPEV's share price.

Firstly, XPeng has suffered from a substantial valuation de-rating.

Investors have been rotating away from high (revenue) growth, loss-making stocks to profitable companies which are returning capital to shareholders via dividends or buybacks. This shift in investor preferences is aligned with expectations of rising interest rates in the future, which tend to be negative for high-growth companies.

Specifically, XPEV's consensus forward next twelve months' Enterprise Value-to-Revenue multiple has compressed from above 8 times in late-November 2021 to 2.8 times as of March 17, 2022.

Secondly, there are concerns that the revenue growth and margins of Chinese electric vehicle companies like XPEV could disappoint the market in 2022.

Market consensus already expects XPeng's top line expansion to slow from +252% in fiscal 2021 to +97% in FY 2022. Besides a higher base for comparison in 2021, it is possible that supply chain disruptions could be a drag on Chinese electric vehicle sales in 2022. A recent March 11, 2021 South China Morning Post article highlighted that China Passenger Car Association's 5.5 million NEV (New Energy Vehicle) sales forecasts could be too bullish, as a researcher from North China University of Technology quoted in the article "predicted that output of batteries and car chips may only be enough for 4.4 million NEVs this year."

Even if XPeng and its Chinese electric vehicle peers are able to secure sufficient semiconductor chips and batteries to meet market demand, it is likely to come at the expense of higher costs and wider losses. In other words, XPEV's 2022 year-to-date share price correction could be attributed to concerns of below-expectations financial results for the company this year.

Thirdly, worries about the potential risk of Chinese stocks delisting from the US might have hurt investor sentiment for XPEV as well.

XPeng's share price corrected from $28.65 as of March 9, 2022, to $19.75 as of March 14, 2022. This was linked to news of the SEC listing "five China-based companies that could be delisted if they don't allow U.S. authorities to review company audits for three straight years" as reported by Seeking Alpha News on March 11, 2022. XPEV's shares later rebounded strongly to close at $27.53 as of March 16, 2022, after Xinhua News Agency highlighted that "the Chinese government continues to support various types of companies to list overseas." This seems to suggest that China will engage with the US on the topic of Chinese listings in the US and related audit issues.

XPEV is in a relatively better position than most other US-listed Chinese companies as its shares are already dual-listed in both the US and Hong Kong. But assuming that XPeng is eventually compelled to delist from the US market in a few years' time, it is still a negative for the company's shares. The Hong Kong equity market or other stock markets for that matter are inferior to the US market in terms of liquidity and valuations. If XPEV ends up being solely listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the company loses an important channel for further financing, and its valuations might further de-rate to be in line with the broader Hong Kong market.

In the next section, I assess XPeng's stock price outlook.

Can XPEV Stock Rebound To $50?

It is challenging for XPeng's share price to recover back to $50. Based on my calculations, XPEV's consensus forward next twelve months' Enterprise Value-to-Revenue multiple will have to expand to 6.6 times for its shares to be valued at $50.

I am of the view that a significant rebound for XPEV's shares in the near term driven by valuation multiple expansion is unlikely. As I explained in the prior section, a shift in investors' preferences away from growth stocks, headwinds for the Chinese automotive industry at large, and delisting fears are going to cap XPeng's capital appreciation potential for now.

Furthermore, XPEV's current valuations are reasonable based on a peer comparison exercise.

Peer Valuation Comparison For XPEV

Stock

Consensus Forward Next Twelve Months' Enterprise Value-to-Revenue Multiple

Consensus Forward One Fiscal Year Gross Profit Margin

Consensus Forward Two Fiscal Year Gross Profit Margin

Consensus Forward One Fiscal Year Revenue Growth

Consensus Forward Two Fiscal Year Revenue Growth

XPeng

2.8

15.6%

17.9%

+97.2%

+58.3%

NIO Inc. (LI)

2.4

21.6%

21.8%

+92.5%

+66.1%

Source:S&P Capital IQ

XPeng's forward Enterprise Value-to-Revenue multiple is higher than LI, but lower than NIO. Although XPEV boasts slightly faster FY 2022 revenue growth rates as compared to its peers, its forecasted gross margin are the lowest in the peer group. As such, it is hard to argue that XPeng's shares are undervalued based on a peer valuation comparison.

Is XPEV Stock A Buy, Sell, Or Hold?

XPEV is a Hold. XPeng's valuations have already de-rated significantly, which prices the negatives to a considerable extent. On the other hand, the current headwinds that are a drag on its share price aren't likely to ease anytime soon.

","source":"lsy1642056764450","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Can XPeng Stock Go Back Up To $50 Levels?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nCan XPeng Stock Go Back Up To $50 Levels?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-03-20 11:00 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
SummaryXPeng's share price went above the $50 mark in late-November 2021 after it released better-than-expected Q3 2021 results and Q4 2021 guidance.But XPEV's shares have halved year-to-date in 2022,...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"XPEV":"小鹏汽车"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4496469-can-xpeng-stock-go-to-50-levels","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1121413470","content_text":"SummaryXPeng's share price went above the $50 mark in late-November 2021 after it released better-than-expected Q3 2021 results and Q4 2021 guidance. But XPEV's shares have halved year-to-date in 2022, given the valuation de-rating for growth stocks, concerns regarding potential revenue misses for 2022, and delisting fears.I rate XPeng as a Hold; I think the company's shares won't go back up to $50 levels in the short term.Robert Way/iStock Editorial via Getty ImagesElevator PitchI have a Hold investment rating for XPeng Inc. XPeng will report its Q4 2021 financial results on March 28, 2022, so I will review the company's most recent Q3 2021 financial metrics to see how the company has performed.XPeng issued its Q3 2021 financial results media release on November 23, 2021 before the market opened, and this was well received by the market with XPEV's shares rising by +8% from $47.39 of November 22, 2021 to cross the $50 mark and close at $51.30 as of November 23, 2021. Why Has XPeng Stock Dropped?XPeng's stock price has fallen roughly by half since the start of the year. XPEV's shares fell from $50.27 as of January 3, 2022 (first trading day of the year) to $24.97 as of March 17, 2022.In my opinion, there are three factors that have led to the severe decline in XPEV's share price.Firstly, XPeng has suffered from a substantial valuation de-rating.Investors have been rotating away from high (revenue) growth, loss-making stocks to profitable companies which are returning capital to shareholders via dividends or buybacks. This shift in investor preferences is aligned with expectations of rising interest rates in the future, which tend to be negative for high-growth companies.Specifically, XPEV's consensus forward next twelve months' Enterprise Value-to-Revenue multiple has compressed from above 8 times in late-November 2021 to 2.8 times as of March 17, 2022.Secondly, there are concerns that the revenue growth and margins of Chinese electric vehicle companies like XPEV could disappoint the market in 2022.Market consensus already expects XPeng's top line expansion to slow from +252% in fiscal 2021 to +97% in FY 2022. Besides a higher base for comparison in 2021, it is possible that supply chain disruptions could be a drag on Chinese electric vehicle sales in 2022. A recent March 11, 2021 South China Morning Post article highlighted that China Passenger Car Association's 5.5 million NEV (New Energy Vehicle) sales forecasts could be too bullish, as a researcher from North China University of Technology quoted in the article \"predicted that output of batteries and car chips may only be enough for 4.4 million NEVs this year.\"Even if XPeng and its Chinese electric vehicle peers are able to secure sufficient semiconductor chips and batteries to meet market demand, it is likely to come at the expense of higher costs and wider losses. In other words, XPEV's 2022 year-to-date share price correction could be attributed to concerns of below-expectations financial results for the company this year.Thirdly, worries about the potential risk of Chinese stocks delisting from the US might have hurt investor sentiment for XPEV as well.XPeng's share price corrected from $28.65 as of March 9, 2022, to $19.75 as of March 14, 2022. This was linked to news of the SEC listing \"five China-based companies that could be delisted if they don't allow U.S. authorities to review company audits for three straight years\" as reported by Seeking Alpha News on March 11, 2022. XPEV's shares later rebounded strongly to close at $27.53 as of March 16, 2022, after Xinhua News Agency highlighted that \"the Chinese government continues to support various types of companies to list overseas.\" This seems to suggest that China will engage with the US on the topic of Chinese listings in the US and related audit issues.XPEV is in a relatively better position than most other US-listed Chinese companies as its shares are already dual-listed in both the US and Hong Kong. Can XPEV Stock Rebound To $50?It is challenging for XPeng's share price to recover back to $50. Based on my calculations, XPEV's consensus forward next twelve months' Enterprise Value-to-Revenue multiple will have to expand to 6.6 times for its shares to be valued at $50.I am of the view that a significant rebound for XPEV's shares in the near term driven by valuation multiple expansion is unlikely. As I explained in the prior section, a shift in investors' preferences away from growth stocks, headwinds for the Chinese automotive industry at large, and delisting fears are going to cap XPeng's capital appreciation potential for now.Furthermore, XPEV's current valuations are reasonable based on a peer comparison exercise.Peer Valuation Comparison For XPEVStockConsensus Forward Next Twelve Months' Enterprise Value-to-Revenue MultipleConsensus Forward One Fiscal Year Gross Profit MarginConsensus Forward Two Fiscal Year Gross Profit MarginConsensus Forward One Fiscal Year Revenue GrowthConsensus Forward Two Fiscal Year Revenue GrowthXPeng2.815.6%17.9%+97.2%+58.3%NIO Inc. Although XPEV boasts slightly faster FY 2022 revenue growth rates as compared to its peers, its forecasted gross margin are the lowest in the peer group. As such, it is hard to argue that XPeng's shares are undervalued based on a peer valuation comparison. Is XPEV Stock A Buy, Sell, Or Hold?XPEV is a Hold. XPeng's valuations have already de-rated significantly, which prices the negatives to a considerable extent. On the other hand, the current headwinds that are a drag on its share price aren't likely to ease anytime soon.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"XPEV":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3073,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9035324788,"gmtCreate":1647521379199,"gmtModify":1676534239723,"author":{"id":"3581637009556119","authorId":"3581637009556119","name":"XiaoTigger","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581637009556119","idStr":"3581637009556119"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9035324788","repostId":"1189529551","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2487,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9032753635,"gmtCreate":1647449339308,"gmtModify":1676534231619,"author":{"id":"3581637009556119","authorId":"3581637009556119","name":"XiaoTigger","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581637009556119","idStr":"3581637009556119"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9032753635","repostId":"2219761305","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2219761305","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1647440549,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2219761305?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-16 22:22","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Walmart Plans to Hire over 50,000 U.S. Workers in Q1","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2219761305","media":"Reuters","summary":"March 16 (Reuters) - Walmart Inc said on Wednesday it plans to hire more than 50,000 workers in t","content":"

March 16 (Reuters) - Walmart Inc said on Wednesday it plans to hire more than 50,000 workers in the United States in its first quarter as the U.S. retailer giant expands its business in the country.

The new hires will fill roles at its stores, clubs, campuses and supply chain facilities, with Walmart also hiring thousands of workers for its new tech hubs in Toronto and Atlanta.

Walmart's average hourly rate is $16.40 an hour in the United States and the starting wage goes up to $30 an hour in select roles and markets, Chief People Officer Donna Morris said in a post on its corporate website.

The Sam's Club parent said it had hired 5,500 pharmacists or pharmacy managers in 2021 and more than 13,000 pharmacy technicians. Is this a good sign in the face of multiple headwinds in 2022, or is TSLA ripe for a sharper correction from here?

Has Tesla stock (TSLA) been a good investment? It depends on who you ask. So far in 2022, TSLA has been a loser in absolute terms and relative to most equity benchmarks.

However, looking back a few years, this stock has been one of the best performers among large-cap names. The big question is: will Tesla be able to defend its rich valuations in a year of numerous market headwinds? Or is a sharper decline only a matter of time?

TSLA: impressive performance

Let’s start with the chart below. It shows how, so far in 2022, Tesla stock (blue line) has underperformed the tech-rich Nasdaq 100 and the autonomous/electric vehicle peer group (DRIV). Compared to other high-growth, high-valuation names like those contained in the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), however, TSLA has done better.

Figure 2:Tesla stock (blue line) has underperformed the tech-rich Nasdaq 100 and the autonomous/electric vehicle peer group DRIV.

This is not to say, however, that TSLA has been a bad investment in the past several months or couple of years — quite the opposite, in fact.

This next chart shows how Tesla stock has lavishly outperformed all of the names mentioned above since around the bottom of the COVID-19 bear. The five-year chart (not depicted here) does not look much worse than this.

Figure 3:Tesla stock has lavishly outperformed Nasdaq 100, ARKK and DRIV.

Resilience or correction ahead?

There are two ways to interpret recent price action in Tesla stock. The glass-half-full view is that TSLA has been resilient to this year’s selloff. Considering roughly 90% in annualized returns between 2017 and 2021, Tesla’s 28% YTD dip in 2022 has been fairly small by comparison.

Bulls have business fundamentals reasons to think that Tesla will continue to climb from here, given enough time. The electric vehicle industry is expected to grow aggressively in the next several years: CAGR of 23% through 2027, according to one source.

The Russia-Ukraine crisis and spike in crude oil prices could also be a positive for Tesla in the end. Tesla’s products are one answer to the global dependence on hydrocarbons that has caused so much turmoil, including inflationary pressures, in the past few months.

But then, there is the glass-half-empty argument. Tesla stock is still up 77% per year for the past five years, despite all the macroeconomic and geopolitical headwinds. Isn’t it time for shares to de-risk a bit more, as those of so many of Tesla’s peers have since early last year?

Supporting this idea are rich valuations. According to Seeking Alpha, Tesla stock commands a very high 2022 P/E of 73 times on earnings growth that is expected to decline to a fairly modest 15% through 2025. Is this a good sign in the face of multiple headwinds in 2022, or is TSLA ripe for a sharper correction from here?Has Tesla stock (TSLA) been a good investment? It depends on who you ask. So far in 2022, TSLA has been a loser in absolute terms and relative to most equity benchmarks. However, looking back a few years, this stock has been one of the best performers among large-cap names. The big question is: will Tesla be able to defend its rich valuations in a year of numerous market headwinds? Or is a sharper decline only a matter of time?TSLA: impressive performanceLet’s start with the chart below. It shows how, so far in 2022, Tesla stock (blue line) has underperformed the tech-rich Nasdaq 100 and the autonomous/electric vehicle peer group (DRIV). Compared to other high-growth, high-valuation names like those contained in the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), however, TSLA has done better.Figure 2:Tesla stock (blue line) has underperformed the tech-rich Nasdaq 100 and the autonomous/electric vehicle peer group DRIV.This is not to say, however, that TSLA has been a bad investment in the past several months or couple of years — quite the opposite, in fact. This next chart shows how Tesla stock has lavishly outperformed all of the names mentioned above since around the bottom of the COVID-19 bear. The five-year chart (not depicted here) does not look much worse than this.Figure 3:Tesla stock has lavishly outperformed Nasdaq 100, ARKK and DRIV.Resilience or correction ahead? There are two ways to interpret recent price action in Tesla stock. The glass-half-full view is that TSLA has been resilient to this year’s selloff. Considering roughly 90% in annualized returns between 2017 and 2021, Tesla’s 28% YTD dip in 2022 has been fairly small by comparison.Bulls have business fundamentals reasons to think that Tesla will continue to climb from here, given enough time. Isn’t it time for shares to de-risk a bit more, as those of so many of Tesla’s peers have since early last year?Supporting this idea are rich valuations. According to Seeking Alpha, Tesla stock commands a very high 2022 P/E of 73 times on earnings growth that is expected to decline to a fairly modest 15% through 2025. Is this multiple justifiable in the current market environment?2022 will be the moment of truthClearly, it is impossible to tell for sure whether the optimistic or the pessimistic views on Tesla stock will prove to be correct in the end. The remainder of 2022 will be crucial at determining which way Tesla stock will bifurcate.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3142,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9036435843,"gmtCreate":1647175240326,"gmtModify":1676534200561,"author":{"id":"3581637009556119","authorId":"3581637009556119","name":"XiaoTigger","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3581637009556119","idStr":"3581637009556119"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9036435843","repostId":"1191877390","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1191877390","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1646809389,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1191877390?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-09 15:03","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. Daylight Saving Time Begins on Sunday, March 13, 2022","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1191877390","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"U.S. daylight saving time begins on Sunday, March13, 2022. at 2:00 a.m. The clocks will be moved for","content":"

U.S. daylight saving time begins on Sunday, March13, 2022. at 2:00 a.m. The clocks will be moved forward from 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.

At that time, the regular trading period of the US stock market will become 9:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m(Beijing Time/SGT)and 00:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m (AEDT)

Daylight saving time will end on Nov. 6 this year.
