Th","content":"
A pair of Wall Street strategists have just come out with cautious outlooks for stocks this fall. They’re joining a growing chorus.
\n
The macro markets experts are as bullish as ever on the ongoing economic recovery, but much less so on equities.Federal Reserve tapering, political drama, and pricey valuations could all trip up the stock market this fall.
\n
Andrew Sheets, chief cross-asset strategist at Morgan Stanley, sees a “bumpy” next few months, and consequently has downgraded U.S. stocks to the equivalent of Sell. And Savita Subramanian, head of U.S. equity and quantitative strategy at BofA Securities, published a pair of S&P 500 targets that imply near-term losses and an at-best flat market through the end of next year.
\n
“Investor sentiment and valuations are extended—a lot of optimism is already priced in—and our Long-Term Valuation Model indicates negative returns for the S&P 500 over the next decade (-0.8% annualized returns) for the first time since the Tech Bubble,” she writes.
\n
Subramanian expects the S&P 500 to fall to 4250 at the end of this year, down about 6% from current levels around 4500. She sees the index rebounding to 4600 by the end of 2022, which would be a gain of barely 2% from today.
\n
Subramanian’s measure of investor sentiment—a contrarian indicator—is signaling euphoria, right when she’s beginning to worry about profit margins and earnings growth. They’re joining a growing chorus.\nThe macro markets experts are as bullish as ever on the ongoing economic recovery, but much less so on equities.Federal Reserve tapering, political drama, and pricey valuations could all trip up the stock market this fall.\nAndrew Sheets, chief cross-asset strategist at Morgan Stanley, sees a “bumpy” next few months, and consequently has downgraded U.S. stocks to the equivalent of Sell. And Savita Subramanian, head of U.S. equity and quantitative strategy at BofA Securities, published a pair of S&P 500 targets that imply near-term losses and an at-best flat market through the end of next year.\n“Investor sentiment and valuations are extended—a lot of optimism is already priced in—and our Long-Term Valuation Model indicates negative returns for the S&P 500 over the next decade (-0.8% annualized returns) for the first time since the Tech Bubble,” she writes.\nSubramanian expects the S&P 500 to fall to 4250 at the end of this year, down about 6% from current levels around 4500. She sees the index rebounding to 4600 by the end of 2022, which would be a gain of barely 2% from today.\nSubramanian’s measure of investor sentiment—a contrarian indicator—is signaling euphoria, right when she’s beginning to worry about profit margins and earnings growth. She points to supply-chain disruptions and inflation in wages and input costs as coming headwinds to profitability. Add to that: Interest rates are likely to be higher rather than lower in the coming year—weighing on valuation multiples—and there’s not much for Subramanian to like on the S&P 500 index level.\nSource:FactSet\nSheets expects the Fed to announce its plans to begin reducing monthly asset purchases later this month, and for officials to also update their so-called “dot plot” of future interest-rate forecasts to show a faster-than-expected pace of hikes. Analysts expect These companies to benefit with economies reopening further as more people get vaccinated.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2358,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":831120999,"gmtCreate":1629295734511,"gmtModify":1676529995397,"author":{"id":"3574245168152500","authorId":"3574245168152500","name":"DiamondHand7","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5bf82636d66330a5f9f59049f30203d5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574245168152500","authorIdStr":"3574245168152500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls like thanks","listText":"Pls like thanks","text":"Pls like thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/831120999","repostId":"1140427466","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2111,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":839833978,"gmtCreate":1629134517094,"gmtModify":1676529942767,"author":{"id":"3574245168152500","authorId":"3574245168152500","name":"DiamondHand7","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5bf82636d66330a5f9f59049f30203d5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574245168152500","authorIdStr":"3574245168152500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls like thanks","listText":"Pls like thanks","text":"Pls like thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/839833978","repostId":"2159248377","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2691,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":896758737,"gmtCreate":1628606838629,"gmtModify":1676529796137,"author":{"id":"3574245168152500","authorId":"3574245168152500","name":"DiamondHand7","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5bf82636d66330a5f9f59049f30203d5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574245168152500","authorIdStr":"3574245168152500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls help like thanks","listText":"Pls help like thanks","text":"Pls help like thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/896758737","repostId":"2158773794","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2523,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":898437676,"gmtCreate":1628516817495,"gmtModify":1703507410283,"author":{"id":"3574245168152500","authorId":"3574245168152500","name":"DiamondHand7","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5bf82636d66330a5f9f59049f30203d5","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574245168152500","authorIdStr":"3574245168152500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls like thanks","listText":"Pls like thanks","text":"Pls like thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/898437676","repostId":"2158238441","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2158238441","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"The leading daily newsletter for the latest financial and business news. 33Yrs Helping Stock Investors with Investing Insights, Tools, News & More.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Investors","id":"1085713068","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/608dd68a89ed486e18f64efe3136266c"},"pubTimestamp":1628514928,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2158238441?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-09 21:15","market":"us","language":"en","title":"BioNTech Stock Pops On Massive Earnings Beat; Company Looks Beyond Covid","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2158238441","media":"Investors","summary":"BioNTech stock popped on Monday after reporting adjusted profit of $12.67 a share on $6.24 billion in second-quarter sales.","content":"
BioNTech stock popped on Monday after the Covid vaccine maker reported adjusted profit of $12.67 per share on $6.24 billion in second-quarter sales.
\n
Analysts polled by FactSet expected BioNTech to earn $8.87 per share on $3.83 billion in sales.
\n
In the year-earlier period, BioNTech lost 45 cents per share and reported $49 million in revenue.
\n
BioNTech didn't offer full-year sales and earnings guidance.
